Ian Fleming's Briefcase

Thought I would post this minor bit of trivia. I did a little research on Swaine Adeney Briggs site and found almost a perfect match of the case Fleming used in his business affairs. The image was taken during his engagement in the Thunderball/McClory court affair. The case is now offered as a computer carrying case and the only change I can see is the latch is now rounded rather than square as was on Flemings.

The Paternoster is 2,295 Pounds.

Now if they made the Paternoster with the square lock from the Westminster Wrap SS they could probably sell even more to well-off Bond fans.

Very nice find, CmdrAtticus. Although honestly for the prices charged by this seller I'd rather have a custom bag or briefcase made.
Why do you say that?
You can try to order from them - I just heard that they are not doing too good and had let go of many of their craftsmen.
Does this have anything to do with them buying Aquascutum a couple of years ago? I can't find anything on the financial status of the co anywhere on the web.
That colour is /was called London Tan ,all the best cases had key locks as opposed to combination locks. but great find well done.
It's only another example of Fleming's taste in the best of consumer goods. As far as custom made, he certainly did this with his suits and shoes.
So if you want something, buy the proper one ! )
