I love the theme used in LTK, very big and makes Bond seem unstoppable. I do like Bond 77 and that used in FYEO, as well as Goldeneye Overture. I do like a lot of tracks on the DAD soundtrack as well.

Just about any of the Sean Connery era Bond themes are untouchable but I have a soft spot for Bill Conti's version from For Your Eyes Only as well.

My favorite version of the theme is by the Film Festival Orchestra, off their 1977 LP "Music from The Spy Who Loved Me & Other Great James Bond Thrillers."

Basically, it's the Bond theme done on a fuzz guitar that's been put through a phaser:

After some digging I discovered that this track, and most others on the LP, were actually recorded in 1973 (which is apparent when you listen to it, as it certainly doesn't sound like something from the disco era), and released under the name The Film Studio Orchestra.

Would be right up Nightfire's menu music alley.
    Not bad.
    a reasonable rate of return

James Bond with Bongos has a mean, cool edge to it.
I'm starting to really like it.

I love the subtle use of the theme by the string section near the middle of the track 'She's mine' from Skyfall.

Oh jesus there a lot of versions that I like. But in chronological film order

    Goldfinger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01lFZthUVBc&
    You Only Live Twice: https://youtu.be/XCBHtJ_PW28?t=3m16s
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Although this timing is horrible) https://youtu.be/JNgw-TaiEuM?t=5m54s
The Spy Who Loved Me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuQCorevZj4
    Licence To Kill: https://youtu.be/lvBjM7tMi1M?t=2m3s
    Tomorrow Never Dies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzW11hOShdU
The World Is Not Enough: https://youtu.be/o7KY8bBdVh4?t=3m28s

GF and TWINE really do it for me, those two are great, if not the best, imo.

It does, and the double bass is cool in that version as well.

I absolutely love the version at the end of OHMSS because of the double bass. Seems like it is never going to stop walking

Isn't OHMSS electric bass doubled with a synth bass? Or is it double bass doubled with a synth bass?

Barry used an electric bass and a modular Moog synth on the OHMSS theme.

Do you think the Bond theme was orchestrated the same way for that film?

Gotcha. The bass is also excellent in the Ski Chase cue. Right after the 'string section' opening finishes and the OHMSS tune begins.
    Great bass sound

It sure does but the “Opening titles” theme in FRWL has to be my all time favourite.

Interesting, but I could not sit through an entire show. I didn’t even make it through the entire song. :))
