    This might be of some small interest- I have shown my now 15 year old Son (who has never read a Bond novel despite my coaxing) a spread of Bond movies from all of the actors (minus Lazenby), and his reaction has nearly always been one of polite toleration in deference to his old man's fixation. But the one Bond movie he liked, and indeed actually requested a second viewing of, was Dr. No.
    :o
    Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

    Bond films are of their time. They are supposed to be happening about five minutes from now, whenever now happens to be. James Bond is ageless, permanently late 30s, and using current technology.
    If we can accept that premise, then whether or not a film/event/gadget/whatever is dated becomes irrelevant. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

    Notice how Bond never wore bell bottoms? That was a good call. But somehow disco (purely a dance fad) made it into a soundtrack.... 8-)
    Otherwise I agree 100%.

    Very surprising indeed, but a good sign for the franchise.

    Continuity has never been a huge Priority in the Bond Franchise (Up until Craig anyway) -{

    As many others have pointed out, when they started they didn't know how
    ( or if) the James Bond films would have been successful. So continuity wasn't
    High on their list. Also the James Bond films are breaking new ground, no series of
    Films have run ( made by the same people) for as long as the Bond series, even
    Being passed on to the next generation ! -{
    So now Continuity will be part of the series. I doubt they would of hired Ralph Fiennes
    Or Ben Whishaw except on the understanding that it would be a long term commitment.
