unimaginable in my 20s and 30s that I'd fancy US country-style music ( I know that in the case of L. Antebellum it's more country-pop).
It all started when I've heard J.M. Montgomery's utterly BRILLIANT version (the original btw) from "I swear" during a road trip thru the US:

I really liked Lady Antebellum right from the beginning and am hearing their newest album right now.
What fascinates and annoys me at the same time with them is the female singer, Hillary Scott.
Her mother must have been a famous country singer, so she comes from a music family. But she's a medicore singer at best!
IMO, she's always too high and does not recognize and her voice is not really well developed.
I mean, if you hear Lee Ann Rymes, Linda Ronstadt, Laura Branigan or Karla Bonoff, she absolutely stinks!
This would normally put me off from buying their CDs but her singing partner Charley Kelley saves the show.
I mean, he's THAT GOOD!
He knows Scott obviously for years and they have quite a success but in his league, it would totally annoy to have a duet partner like her.
When I am hearing their songs, I am annoyed and at the same time fascinated how bad she is but at the same time how good they match together.
Let's take one example of one of my favorites:

Wonder what Barbel has to say about this.

Hey, don't you dare mock vinyl, you young whippersnapper! If only I could get my zimmer frame moving, I'd whip your... I think it's great (and amusing too) the way vinyl's making a comeback. Apart from collections in the attic, vinyl pretty much died for mainstream music lovers not long after CDs were born. Now CDs are pretty much dying because of music downloads...however, vinyl's having a re-birth. People are not only digging out their old LP collections, but record companies are now also releasing many new albums on vinyl (and I'm not just talking Englebert Humperdink here!). People are rediscovering the retro coolness of a spinning a disk on a turntable and actually relishing the hiss and pop of an LP as compared to the pristine and flawless reproduction of digital. Bizarre...but nice. I'm not expecting a similar re-birth of the 8-track, however.

I'm the second dancer on her left.
Shhhhh....you ruined his Halloween surprise! )
I will disagree with him, however, about Hillary Scott; I find no problems whatsoever when she is giving her performances.
Seeing as its coming up to the festive season, I see it fitting to have this great number:
