Cell phones & Data Sim cards (travelling to US)

Travelling to the US again and wouldn't mind have a cell number for people to get hold of me (and more importantly internet on the go)

My hotels will have wifi of course but always nice to have access when out and about as have some important work things going on email wise!

Cant remember how I did it last time I was in the US

I have an unlocked iPhone etc so thats no problem, just need some kind of prepaid sim so I don't have any sign ups etc with my UK credit cards

Was looking at something like this to send to my hotel which would give me 30 days once the dude activates it

Well, if it's WiFi your looking for while away from your hotel, many places in the U.S. offer free wi-fi. Some places you might need a passcode to sign onto (just a passcode, most likely similar to what your hotel will make you use when using their wi-fi). If you know what cities you're staying in while here, check now for Starbucks or other restaurants near your hotel or other places you might be visiting that you can use wi-fi. Most Apple stores also offer free wi-fi, so if you're near one of those, you can sneak on their wi-fi.

A few people have recommended I just go and get a prepaid sim from AT&T (I really need a number too) so I will try that
