I just finished watching the BBC miniseries "Jonathan Strange and mr. Norell". The story takes place during the Napoleonic wars, but in a slightly different version where magic comes back to England after being gone for 300 years. The magic is more inventive and interesting than in most other versions on screen, the cast is excellent and the story is original and spellbinding
Only thing spoiling the Aston stuff was Hollywood.

I saw the first season of Gotham. The series is very well made, but it's strength is also its weaknes. The series takes place just after Bruce Wayne's parents are killed and the future Batman's enemies and allies are emerging. The young Catwoman, Falcone, commisioner Gordon, The Penguin and many others are interesting, but THEY CAN'T DIE in this series since they will be around when Wayne becomes an adult. As a result the story seems like an eteral fight where no-one dies or truly looses-
This is an interesting take, Number24; but has the appeal of Batman's villains always been that Batman can possibly kill them? Batty's villains are iconic--they can never really die, and I think a major draw to "Gotham" is that we get to see them come into being. That said, hang on for season two. . .you'll find that some things aren't exactly what they seem to be, and that, yes, those things can die. . .

Which was an odd coincidence for me, as I live no where near it but
Yesterday . That's where I was, ( I was driving all over the place yesterday).
I did have the loveliest Burger ever in a local pub though.
