There's an interesting documentary about Las Vegas presented by Trevor McDonald on ITV1 currently.
Yes its on now ,but a mate said ,if you watch it ,you wont ever want to go there ???
I taped it and only saw about half of it but it wasn't flattering at all. I don't think that I'd ever really want to go there though (and most especially not to gamble money!) but it would be a fascinating chance to conduct a sort of psychological study of the people attracted there to the casinos and slot machines. I've partly written an article on 1950s Las Vegas as depicted in Fleming's DAF novel and I may now finish it up and post it to the blog. -{
"The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).
Even on an old Columbia episode " Double shock" the other day ( early 70s)
It looked very drab, in DAF it really didn't look all that glamorous either.

Yes, I recall that one.
I think it'd be done so much before in other films that it hadn't much sparkle left by the time Bond came along to set a film there.

My wife's niece, spent part of her honeymoon in Vegas, only doing
Tourist things. I think they went into one casino, just to say they
gambled there. They were more impressed with Nashville, as they
are big Country music fans.

Yes, a work colleague who went on holiday to Las Vegas told me that they even had slot machines/fruit machines etc. in the hotel lobbies (never mind the casinos)!

I've been tucking into Battlestar Galactica from the 2000's. It's been alright so far. I've noticed it gets quite high praise. I've watched the mini series and the first five episodes of the first season.
To anyone that has seen it, does the series pick up traction or does it stay like it does in the first few episodes?

I know he has his fans, but I think he has a big ego. Which may have
had something to do with his producer leaving after only five months.
I honestly think his version of TG, will be the last. His idea of getting
One Direction as guest hosts etc, fill me with horror. Also if you thought
Clarkson had a big head, at least he knew he needed help from the other
two to present and film stories for the series. Where Chris doesn't think he
Needs help and ( if true) will be the only permanent presenter.
I'm so big a fan of Top Gear that I even watch the repeats on Dave. )

We're Doomed: The Dad's Army Story - superb !
A great cast to start with - all evoking the spirit of the original actors...but special mention must be given to John Sessions who WAS Arthur Lowe !
I loved every second of this...I just wanted more of it -{
ive watched Hansel and Gretel about 4 times this month ,starring Jeremy Renner and our very own QOS girl Gemma Arterton ,
Gemma in tight leather trousers ,it dosent get better
Another Netflix offering, the comedy Master of None. I was none too sure of this one, since it stars Aziz Ansari--I found his character on Parks and Recreation so annoying I couldn't watch the show. But this program is both very funny and even profound, with insightful episodes about roles for Asian actors, being the children of immigrants, appreciating old people, and the problems of living together. It's worth watching.

I feel that one just gets better, actually, and was very satisfied with the conclusion. I recommend every episode of the whole run

Not TV, but I've discovered a great radio comedy quiz on BBC Radio Scotland ( Breaking the news)
it's available for download etc on the bbc radio player.
I also really enjoyed the latest version of "Then there were none" on BBC 1 last night, very moody.
can't wait to see part two.

We had the day of the Triffids on our TV yesterday ,still a great film , I just love the bit when he is in hospital ,in bed ,and the nurse ,lights him up a fag ) ) how times have changed .
Watching " And then there were none" on BBC 1 staring amongst others
"Poldark" star Aidan Turner ( possible new Bond contender ?). In Poldark
He was famous for cutting some wheat with no shirt on, sending many
Hears a fluttering, and yes even in Agatha Christie. They find an excuse to

That was really fantastic -{ Pretty damn dark but really captivating. Rare to see such a talented cast all at their best, I even thought Toby Stephens was excellent when I presumed he could act himself out of a paper bag judging by DAD. )
I agree a great cast, with a few Bond connections with Toby Stephens
Charles Dance and even San Neil ( who screen tested for Bond) I'll be
watching it again on the iPlayer. -{

How about some love for "Are You Being Served"? As an American, I loved watching that show as a kid on Public Television.
And the X-Files returns next month!

It seems the BBC Top Gear programme " is in Chaos"
What do you think of Chris Evans as a replacement for Clarkson and Co., TP?
I never watched it but I'm just curious as to what regular viewers think.
