I loved The Persuaders. IMO Roger's greatest role, he was perfect in this.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Another bit of nostalgic tv. Watched a couple of episodes of "The six million dollar man" .
Bringing back memories of running in slow motion :D Honestly can't believe this hasn't
    been remade as a movie.

    :)) :)) :))

On Top Gear, Can't say I'm upset at Chris Evans leaving ( I was never a fan), perhaps
the Team will have a bit more success ?
For the first time ever, watching last nights Top Gear. I switched over to watch
    something else !

I quite enjoyed the whole series - didn't think it was as bad as some made out.

If rumours are to be believed - and on the whole they are not - then Chris may just need to clear his schedule anyway ! :o

I wonder if they go for another complete reboot or just replace Chris Evans with someone else and keep the rest of the team......

    Who could replace him?

    Rowan Atkinson?

    Jodie Kidd?

    Someone else?
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
I'd change the format, keep the team, but get some new ideas. They're not Top Gear,
Never will be. All they can hope for is to have a moderately successful car show.
What the three old presenters have, is something special...... that didn't do a car
Show. They did an entertainment show !
With the O!d TG, I spent an hour laughing, great big belly laughs at their antics. :))

Keep the team, OK. But Chris Evans has resigned. Should the rest of the team go on without him - and should they get a new leader?
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
They don't need a leader ( in my opinion, .... the correct opinion ) ;)
Just keep the team together, to build up a rapport. So they can be
A little more natural with each other in front of the cameras.

The bbc must have decided to copy Norwegian television, going by the sort of programmes
they broadcast ( noting Number24's reports) as all week on bbc 4. There's Trainspotting LIVE !

Anyone watching "Masters of Photography" on Sky Arts. For anyone interested in
photography it's very interesting. The last programme was night photography in
    Berlin.

I've finished the first season of the series "Banshee". It's the story of an ex-convict who takes the identity of the new sheriff of the town Banshee. So far I think the story is good, so are the actors. The fights are unusually brutal and well made.
The casting of Banshee should be of special interest for Bond fans. The female lead is played by Ivana Milicevic who played Le Chiffre's girlfriend in CR. I have to say she impresses both as a dramatic actress and in the very violent fight scenes.
The main villan is play by Ulrich Thomsen who was Davidov in TWINE. I can also mention Antony Starr who plays the lead in Banshee and was reported to one of the many actors who screentested for Bond before they cast Daniel Craig. Starr too impresses in the dramatic scenes and in the action scenes and he holds the small screen well. He has the talent needed for a Bond actor. He is tall and has leading man looks. In the series he is never clean shaven, and after seing pictures of him online I notice he has a peculiar lookk around his mouth. Would he have been a good James Bond? I don't know, but he might. It's a good series and a look into what might have been.

I forgot to mention the cover art on the season DVD's. They are beautiful and really sets them apart from other TV series out there:

    I loved Banshee.

Brutal but entertaining. Sometimes it was so bad it was good but I enjoyed it. An awful lot happens for such a small town. :))

    Shame it's finished.

The new ITV quiz show had a James Bond panel, all fairly easy questions
except one. Which you would have to have been a Bond fan. It was about
Bob Holness playing Bond in the 1950s radio play of Moonraker.

On one of the rerun UK channels they had an old episode of Sharpe, with three Bond actors from three eras in one scene - first Sean Bean of course, then the guy who played Domino's brother in NSNA (playing a Yankee I think, American Civil War veteran, he was good in the role, more appealing than in the Bond film) and the third an almost unrecognisable Daniel Craig as a Flashman type fop, all Byronic dark hair and cruel looks, and Sharpe's nemesis. I think Hardyboy flagged up many years ago just how unrecognisable Craig was in this.

Sharpe doesn't really date as it's all period adventure anyway. It's good stuff.
