I have been watching "Gunsmoke" all evenings. I'm too young to have seen the original run, but I have fond and hazy memoirs of the series "How the world was won", also starting James Arness. I really enjoy Gunsmoke so far - good old-fashioned western.

They've been doing this for a couple of years now...probably longer...the whole Sherlock series is being shown in the cinema and a few Doctor Who episodes have been shown this way as well...

What was the one with Barry Davies and Eddie Stone? It came out after SAS: Are You Tough Enough and people trained in spy craft, got eliminated, and the last few had to conduct a mission in Iceland.
Since my ego is large enough and my week-long self-inflicted ban on mentioning my country is over, I want to mention three Norwegian TV series I'm confident will be hits internationally. While the Swedes and Danes dominated the Nordic wave of TV some years ago (Broen, The Killing, Borgen etc.) even they admit Norway makes better TV now.
The first one is "Nobel", a thriller about Norwegian special forces in Afghanistan and a political conspiracy at home. It stars Axel Hennie (Headhunters, Max Manus, The Martian, Hercules).
"Valkyrie" (At least that what I think the English title will be) was bought by the BBC before it was even finished shooting.
It revolves around an illegal hospital clinic in an abondoned underground station in Oslo.
The last one is SKAM ("Shame")
This series can best be compared with the HBO's "Girls", but the leads in SKAM are about 17 years old. This series has revolutionized how the internet and social media can be used by a drama series. Events in the series are put online as they "happen" in the series - if the girls go to a party at 21.45 on Friday, the events go online at that time. The party may also have is own Facebook page. This series is so popular internationally some fans have taken to translating the series themselves because they can't for it to be shown by their TV channels. The season one lead Josefine Frida Pettersen is only 20 years old, but will be a good Bond girl candidate in 5-10 years.
I pulled the plug on Dish satellite Friday and paid my last bill.
Now, instead of $101 dollars a month for 17 out of 200 channels that I actually watch, I pick and choose what channels to watch and what shows for $0 a month. I can also sign up for Amazon or Netflix, but so far Roku is keeping me entertained for free.
Everything on TV is good now.
The last two days I watched AVTAK, FRWL, TSWLM, and a whole list of television shows I haven't watched in a long time.
Cable and satellite companies had better open their eyes soon or one day they will wake up and find themselves out of business.
We have been catching up with the latest series of Father Brown on the BBC I-player. It's gentle entertainment set in the 1950's English countryside but it's very enjoyable.

The television show the James Bond films a lot of times in England but they are always on at 9pm. I work the night shifts so miss them. I have not seen some James Bond films yet but sometimes they are shown in the day on Sunday so I hope to see them then.
I seen the persuaders with Roger Moore is on the free view english TV. I hear about this from other peoples so thought ajb members in england would like to now it is on the tv every day i think.
We had UNITED ,on our TV last night ,it was a docu/drama about the Manchester utd Munich plane crash ,back in 1958 ,
very sad ,all those poor young lads who died for nothing ,because the idiots at the FA wouldn't allow them extra time to get back home . I hope the boss of the FA at that time can rest in his grave peacefully (I hope not)

In it, Drew Barrymore is a real estate agent who discovers she's a zombie with a craving for human flesh, and her partner-husband played by Timothy Olyphant reluctantly agrees to help her get some needed food. The gross-out element is high, but so is the laugh quotient. Love it!
My IT expert (because I am inept at everything technical) has provided me access to any Netflix region in the world which is brilliant. Maybe something to do with a VPN or multi VPN (again I'm not sure as all this goes straight over my head)?

I've been given the loan of a box set of "the Saint" all the old B/W shows.
they're remarkably good, some great stories and it's fun spotting all the
actors who've also been in a Bond.
