"Reindeer herding minute by minute" started today. The Sami are moving their reindeer from the winter pastures inlandto the summer pastures on an island. Most of the time on channel NRK2 will be designated to this for days
BTW: Is there an English word for a large flat area/region so far above sea level no trees grow there?!
That's it! The reindeer are getting moved from the Finnmark plateau, near the border to Russia.
AJB007 is great in many ways, including for maintaining and expanding my English vocabulary. -{
The latest slow-TV hit "Reindeer herding - minute by minute" will stop tomorrow evening - because it was too slow )
The reindeer walked too slowly, because the cold weather didn't inspire them to move to an island for the summer and because of union rules (for the TV crews, not Santa's crew). The bradcast started Monday this week and has been going on only interupted by one hour of foreign news each day.
I just never get bored of it, telly savalas is fantastic.
" look colonel, we're not worried about the german army, we just want to know which is the best hotel "
Just watched the three series boxed set of Peaky Blinders, which is a violent crime drama set in 1919 featuring Thomas Shelby and based in Birmingham England.
I enjoyed it so much that I watched the entire boxed set in a night and an afternoon of viewing.
Season 4 is being filmed as we speak, and I can't wait for it to come out later this year on BBC 2.
I never thought there would be another TV show with as much sex as The Game Of Thrones, I was wrong PB's wins it hands down.
From a friend I got the loan of the complete series of " Still Game" a truly Funny comedy about the
Lives of a group of pensioners living in a part of Glasgow. I only caught the last series on BBC2, if
This had an earlier showing on BBC1, I think it would have been a huge UK success up there with
Porridge or Only Fools.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I'm really enjoying Loch Ness. Beautiful scenary great acting and a real sense of menance. Also the fact that we had a day there a couple of years ago and going again later this year adds to enjoyment.
I haven't watched the European Song Contest in years, but I'm considering it tonight. The reason is that I knew the twins who are presenting the Norwegian votes. Good luck boys! B-)
I've been forced to watch eurovision tonight. Mrs coop is quite partial to it. I have to say the Welsh girl representing the UK gave a fantastic performance, she should be one of the front runners, but I think the " normal" voting routine will prevail, you know Norway giving Sweden top votes and all that.
Well, now the Norwegian jury's votes are announced. The twins looked classy in tweed suits. I'm used to seing them on TV now, but it's strange to watch people you have known saying "Hallo Europe!" and not exagerating at all......

I actually thought they looked a bit scary !! )
I love Eurovision. I love everything about it.
Not quite sure how Portugal managed to win with that weird thing they called a song but ... that's part of the joy ;%

Actually they're nice and unthreatening. They are just 14-15 years old, but can fill the largest consert arenas in Scandinavia. They manage to remain sane by living in a small community where they're treated like normal kids. But it was weird when one of them mentioned in passing that Beyonce's songwriters (two of them) are writing songs for them ...
But after reading a bit in British newspapers it turns out TP isn't only ones comparing Marcus & Martinus to Jedward (Jedfjord?) or to find them scary like Lady Rose did. I don't understand why they can be seen as scary, perhaps someone can enlighten me? ?:) )
Jedward are very scary, the Norwegian twins maybe not so much.... But Jedward has kind of ruined the entertainment world for young male twins...... A bit like Austin powers did for spectres storyline.
jedward are basically untalented, egotistical, shallow, manipulative, and generally stupid. The Welsh girl who sang the Uk's entry last night was voted off the freak show I mean talent show that is the x factor in favour of Jedward. Some irony there I think.

That's bad news for M&M, since I'm pretty sure their plan is becoming world famous. They are still in 9th grade and they are huge stars in Scandinavia, so don't bet against ot.
I don't like that type of music, but you can't fault their work ethic and tween girls love them. I saw their own class get invivited to a consert and the girls (who had known them since they were in diapers) cried of happiness.
This should be under 'Anything Old on TV?' but True Entertainment began showing the early episodes of The Avengers with Honor Blackman.
I caught a few, and they are very pedestrian. It's all interior shots, it makes Z Cars look like The Fast and Furious. It doesn't have the jaunty, sexually promising Avengers theme, but another downbeat jazz 'You're Never Alone With a Strand' type opener which is just depressing.
Some Avengers touches are there, Steed of course, and goings-on at a foreign embassy or assassinations at a company board room, but not much else. Blackman's Cathy Gale isn't in every episode and she doesn't have her black leathers yet, so she seems more like a posh librarian. Disturbingly, Steed seems less than gallant and a lot of the time seems to use her to fulfil some vaguely exploitative role where he only fills her in on the detail and level of danger later.
It makes you appreciate how the Bond films pretty much hit the ground running with all the ingredients in place: the gunbarrel, the Bond theme, Bond's tux and casino, the catchphrase, the exotic locations, outlandish deaths and supervillain, not to mention M and Moneypenny.
In contrast, The Avengers is taking ages to morph into what we know and love.

Same here...totally bemused how that won
