Just got back from Venice!
Amazing town.

It was such a kick to 'walk' in Bond's footsteps as I strolled through the streets and locales so familiar in Casino Royale and Moonraker...

One day, I decided to go full 'James Bond' mode...put on the suit, went to the Dianeli, ordered a martini, took off running across St. Mark's Square (got puzzled looks for that one) and even yelled 'Goodhead!!' while sightseeing on a gondola...I couldn't help it, had to do it...

Anyways, the ochestras played beautifully, the seafood was great, the hotel impeccable, the Bond locations gave a wonderful perspective on the movies...a full recommendation!

    I was there in September for the first time. What an amazing city. I left the same day that Clooney and guests were arriving for his wedding -- it was turning into a bit of a circus.

    I was hoping for a gondolier named Franco, but got Roberto instead. Also, the clock that Chang fell through has been repaired. -{

    Hello! I'm curious about the location of the courtyard where Bond faces off against Gettler at the end of CR (also seen in MOONRAKER). Is that the Benedetto music conservatory?

    When you yelled while running, did any Westerners yell back, "Where and how much?!?!" :))

    So glad you got there! Spent four days there back in my youth. Stayed at the Gritti, drank at Harry's Bar, visited the glass factories in Murano, ate at Florians, drank Americanos and Negronis in the square while listening to the orchestras, wandered the back streets, visited the end of the Lido to see the golf course with the warning signs for WWII land mines and gambled at the casino. Was a trip of a lifetime then, but I plan on revisiting with my wife. It really is an amazing place - such a pity it has been overtaken by the cruise ships full of tourists.
