Propulsion Unit Thunderball Air Tanks - Where is it?

Hi ajb-ers, Does anyone know what happened to the propulsion unit from the top of Bonds Thunderball air tanks? the best image find appears to be, when it was 'open' in Q's lab, within the 'Welcome to Japan Mr Bond' featurette from You only live twice so that dates it about 1967 at Pinewood…Does anyone know of it's whereabouts…fate etc?

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe it is currently in EON productions archive at Pinewood Studios, along with the Attache Case used in From Russia With Love, Odd Job's hat from Goldfinger and many other props and costumes from the films.

I would think that if EON did have it, it would be included in the Designing 007 exhibit ... along with the attache case and the hat.
Wondering if because it was a larger piece -- like the sea tows and sub tank -- they didn't bother retaining it.

There are larger pieces archived which did not get included in the Designing 007 Exhibition but the Bomb sled was not one of them. It did make it out of the Bahamas for Department Store promotional purposes in 1965. The "and the kitchen sink" was not mentioned in the exhibition's planning stages but that does not mean it is not archived so it may just make an appearance for Thunderball's 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2015....perhaps Jordan Klein's Tow Sled may even make a reappearance? ;)

I had forgotten when I wrote that that the tank had shown up at events like boat shows. Curious, though, that with all the sea tows built, only two seemed to have survived and neither are in EON's hands.

Regardless, though, I'm imagining that like one of the DB5s, they could easily have just taken the propulsion unit and other bits off the aqualung and returned it to it's original state. On the other hand, that bloody watch turned-up at a boot sale so who knows ...
