My Dear friends,
Finally, after months of organizing and planning, today we pulled off our reenactment of the iconic Arrival Scene at the Palacio Hotel, in San Francisco at the Fairmont Hotel.
The November weather held, the flags were returned to their International motif, following a change to orange and black for the Giants World Series win, and the cars, film crew, extras, wardrobe, props, tailors, actors, spectators, and even the SFPD came together to enjoy a lovely day playing in our James Bond film tribute.
The cast of cars assembled for the shoot: 1957 Bentley, complete with a collection of prop hats in the boot, the Jaguar Mark III Sedan, the Mercedes Benz 600, that had been used in several TV commercials, the Mercury Cougar, in Winter Spec, and my Aston Martin DBS.
There are so many people to thank for their kind help, and I hope that you all enjoy the photos!
Video coming soon, and I will post the link following post production.

Now, here we go....
The scene that we are all familiar with
Our banner to commemorate the reenactment
We begin our scene with the bellboy taking Tracy's bag from the boot, and walking towards the hotel...
Here comes the Aston Martin DBS...
Aston turns into spot next to Cougar
Cue extras to walk across street between MBZ 600 and Jaguar Mark III. Aston toots horn....
Cue bellboy and bell captain....
Bond out of car, bellboy opens boot...
"...And take care of those clubs!"
Bag out of boot, Bond walks towards hotel, Mercedes pulls out....Cut!
Our happy cast: security, extras, car owners, journalist, and our bellboy!
The lovely and patient Amanda and I are interviewed by local news. Suit is by Peter Navin of SF, shoes and tie are Magnoli. Note the number plate on the Cougar has been changed to film spec for the day. We had a huge crowd around this filming, and it was at times difficult to get everyone out of the shot. There were some modern cars in the shots, though, as we could not close down the entire front of the hotel and streets with out a permit, and a huge budget. Showbiz can be tough sometimes....
A lovely portrait of an incredible day....
"Your baggage sir?..." Wrestling announcer Dragon Dave got into the act as our bellboy...
I hope that you all enjoy the photos, and my interpretation of this iconic scene. There were so many contributions from so many, and cooperation from the car owners: The Cougar, Mercedes Benz 600, Jaguar Mark III Sedan, and the 1957 Bentley.
I would love to hear your feedback, and stay tuned as: James Bond will be back "On Her Majesty's Secret Service:" Beach Fight!
Cheers,
Tom

Aston is still one of my favourite Bond cars, I think the late 60s early 70s
Aston's looked far more elegant than the bigger more aggressive modern
Designs.
Looked like a lot of fun. {[]
Forgive me, but isn't the Jaguar in you reenactment a Mark 2? I've never heard of the Mark III. The original car was the top-of-the-line Mark X/420G, one of my all-time-favourite cars!
The owner knew of one of the cars actually used in the film, very elegant, and large, indeed!
Right you are on the suit, my local tailor, Peter Navin, did an outstanding job- right down to the bone material for the buttons.
All hand stitched on the inside. Will do a story on that suit another time.
A feller who was at the event just rang me today, and put me in touch with an auto journalist who wants to recreate the Furka Pass DB5 and Mustang chase.
Wants me to source cars, and tag along!
Planning stages for the beach punch up scene...
Cheers, Tom
