What are the chances of Nolan directing Bond, do you think?
If he did do it, I think he would want to do a trilogy and cast his own lead.
I think, myself, that we've seen his style done already with Mendes.
I believe there's an element of truth in what your saying here.
Both Mendes and Nolan have made some great films.

So id agree Spectre may be similar in length and pacing to some of these titles.
Hoyte van hoytema was the cinematographer for spectre, dunkirk and intersellar.
The footage shown for bond 25 so far has some beautiful blues and yellows like roger deakins in skyfall.
Linus sandgrens work on lala land is very colourful also and his work on first man makes it look of epic scale just like the brief showing of the helicopter and sunset in bond 25.
Whats been seen in the 1 minute clip looks promising.

I think if Nolan ever makes a Bond movie it's most likely Bond26 (and possibly trillogy), because he wants to doa a reboot. If he does a trillogy I guess his opinion will be important when casting the new Bond, but I can't believe eill let him decide on his own.
I think it would be brilliant if Nolan made some bond films that were period pieces, set in the 50's/60's, getting in as many unused Fleming material as possible.
I hope so but I don't want him to direct one movie but rather a few. The franchise needs safe hands to guide it into the future and he'd be fantastic for it.
No one can deny that Nolan is an amazing Director. Inception, Interstellar, Dark Knight trilogy and more. I seriously doubt though that he could work with Michael and Barbara.
One of the reasons we love the Broccoli’s is because of their long time association with the 007 series. However, as Producers go their “hands on” approach, I feel, sometimes works against them. “Normal” producers employ a director and they have 100% control. This is not the case with Eon. Years ago Tarrantino wanted to direct a Bond movie and they couldn’t work out a deal. Speilberg did Indiana Jones because he wanted to direct a Bond film and probably couldn’t agree terms either, and of course, Danny Boyle left because of their differences.
With the exception of Sam Mendes, Eon seem to not be able to “let go” and allow a big hitting director total control. Consequently I doubt if Nolan will get involved. As a result, we will all await Tenet with baited breath!
I doubt more than a few big budget action directors get complete control (if any), that's perhaps the privilige of proven auteurs making smaller movies like Woody Allen, Wes Anderson and the Cohen brothers. Spielberg, Tarantino and Nolan probably get more freedom on action movies than pretty much everyone else. I'm miles and miles from being a movie insider, but that's my impression.
The real question is: How much control are the Bond producers willing to give up to land Nolan to direct Bond and how much control is Nolan willing to give up to fulfilll his dream of making a Bond? I hope this compromise can be found.
I think Bond 26 will be the best chance ina long time to get Nolan to direct Bond. He saidin an interview about directing Bond:
"You'd have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you." Depending on how NTTD turns out the series won't be in such need for reinvention as it was in 1995 and 2006, but after Craig leaves there will be need/room for some reinvention.
