I'm quite intrigued by this Lady Gaga rumor. I'd love to see another electric, dance-y Bond theme à la Madonna.
Maybe either Adele or Gaga were brought on to write the lyrics??
Everyone has their tastes and opinions that should be respected....but the last thing I would want to hear is another electronica mash-up like the theme for DAD. IMO, I don't believe Mendes and Thomas Newman would go that way. As I have said before, Bond film themes and scores should be reflective of the unique "Bond style" that the great John Barry developed. Even George Martin who scored LALD did a great job of taking McCartney's theme and melding it into a tradionally orchestrated Bond score. McCartney is so talented and has such a great "feel" that he could create a Bond theme that was very "different" but still was very "Bond" sounding.

Having just seen her duets with Tony Bennett in their 'Cheek to Cheek' tour, Lady Gaga's talent surprised me - she can swing. I'm a big fan of swing/jazz/big band music, and I wouldn't object to Lady Gaga doing the Bond theme if, and only if, it's a big, bold, big band style number.

I'm always surprised Michael Buble or Jamie Callum haven't been approached for the Bond theme gig. I used to think Robbie Williams might belt out a good number but I think his time may have passed.

Lady Gaga is a very talented lady. She can sing, play and write a catchy tune. Would have no objections to her singing a Bond tune, but as you say would prefer if it was a big and bold number.
She would be a great choice but not sure they would want to follow up Adele with another young female British vocalist..? Anyway, I'd be surprised if they haven't already chosen somebody

Guys take a look at Llana Del Rey's song "Shades of Cool". It's scary how much the beginning sounds like a bond song. If they choose her she would be perfect.

That is a good song, and the beginning does sound particularly "Bondian". I've known about Lana Del Rey for a couple of years now but it is only recently that I started to listen to her songs. Some of them are seriously good, I would not be unhappy if she was the chosen one to sing a Bond theme.

Are you guys worried that the next Opening Credits Theme Song for the new Bond film might turn out to be crap?
QoS and Skyfall were both crap, so I wouldn't be surprised. The film however, I hope is good.
I can live with a crap song if the film is good.
I don't think it will include the word SPECTRE though like "Goldfinger, Thunderball, Goldeneye, Skyfall etc did with their songs. I reckon it will be more along the lines of the one for Casino Royale or QoS.
I really hope they get it right, I think a good title song can reflect very well on the film, especially if the score is tied into it (something that has been lacking recently )

I am inclined to agree with Spoff, I feel SPECTRE would benefit from a BIG kickass rock song.
Although, I am not adverse to Paloma Faith, I think she has a fantastic singing voice and is brashly British which is just made for Bond.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Paloma Faith, speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, "I also know that I'm not going to sing the Bond (theme song) because I've found out that I am not going to be singing it ... I think now because of the whole cool factor thing I'm never going to get it and if you ask for something in this business you don't get it."
I thought she'd get it to be honest but obviously not.
I really liked Skyfalll so wouldn't have a huge problem with Adele coming back, but would prefer something a bit different with Adele coming back in the future.

I can't get the idea of Jessie J out of my head. A movie about SPECTRE doesn't need the "good girl" sound of Adele, but a bad girl sound. Her voice has a lot of soul in it too - perfect for a BIG song. British too.
Paloma Faith reckons she’s scuppered her chances by not being “cool” enough. However, I would love her to do the new theme for Spectre, I love her vocals and admire her as an artist.
Ed Sheeran ruled himself out of the running last December, telling The Independent that his voice “lacks balls”.
“I am a James Bond fan but I think the theme tune should be ballsy and I feel like if I was going to do it, it would sound a bit wet,” he said.
“I think Sam Smith would be perfect suited-up with his strong voice. I’m backing Sam. Anyone from him to Paloma Faith who does the retro thing really f**king well should do it.
“I’d love to but I just wasn’t born with the James Bond voice. You never know, I’m not ruling it out. Maybe in ten years’ time when my balls drop.”
Also, like someone else said earlier I quite liked "Another way to die" by Jack White & Alicia Keys.. It was definitely the best Bond theme since GoldenEye, until Skyfall came along which smashed everything since Live & Let Die.
As long as wheover gets the nod pulls it off and does a top tune, I don't mind who it is.

She's only 5'1" though.. Could be good as a femme fatale. Just have to be careful she isn't used as a 'Verity'
Dear @007 Ive been waiting patiently to be able to sing the next theme. I was BORN to do it. Please don't give it to someone else again!

She'd be a great choice...
And she's very good in interviews etc.
I love Paloma Faith.
Her albums are great, she always seems really natural in interviews and her voice is very distinctive.
She would also be very theatrical.
She would be my choice.
What I really like is she's just come straight out and said ' I want the gig! Give it to me!!!'
Go on Eon ... Give it to Paloma. She asked nicely )

Actually the Skyfall theme was tied into the Skyfall score in the track "Komodo Dragon".
THIS.
Not this, maybe again in the future, but not now.
I hated Skyfall, but many people did like it, I would be prepared to put up with her again in the future, but not for SPECTRE, not so soon.
I would like the SPECTRE one to be along the lines of the Casino Royale one, which I think is the best one since The Living Daylights.
It will probably be Adele again.
