all his film scores not just Bond -{ but to listen to some on here. You'd
Think EON simply went down to the British Legion and grabbed the first
one armed piano player to do the scores for Skyfall and Spectre. )
I don't know, TP... I generally enjoyed SF, minus a couple of bland iterations. My main problem with SPECTRE (what are we calling this one for short? Sp?) is the rehash of entire passages from the previous one. Again, not the reuse of themes, but the copypaste technique. Where the music is new, I do like it even if I have some trouble with certain passages (like I did with SF!). We will learn if the rehash technique came from TN, SM or EON in due time, I guess... then I'll know who to hate!
"Enjoy it while it lasts."

) I shall hold back my opinion, untill I've had a chance to really
give it a good hard listen. In a quiet room, as I remember scenes from
the film.
It could be as bad as many say, but I'm going with the good " Vibes" until
I hear different.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
The song has so much promise...I've distanced myself from Sam Smith's version for a while now , then I caught it on the radio the other day...dear God!, as much as I want to like it, his falsetto is so irritatingly annoying....but what a superb job Connie Talbot does of it....and that speaks volumes of the song...(it's rattling around in my head)...it's good, but so much better with a female voice that projects the power in the higher register...but Smith's, in all honesty, when I hear it, I just want to be put out of my misery.

I think the problem is that they got the one-armed piano player from the American Legion rather than the British Legion.
Found it interesting on the Graham Norton show, he said the titles were wonderful
( which I was expecting ) and there was a slighlty different version of the song played
over them ? I doubt it will make anyine like it, just thought it was an interesting fact
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
I am looking forward to hearing it with the titles. I've read it somehow makes the song better. MY GOD THIS IS EXCITING!!! I bloody love a new Bond film me!
It really is! It annoys me when people say "it's just a film!" No it isn't you cretin, it's a connection with my childhood, when my escapism and imagination was at its highest. It's a memory of all those times my dad took his excited young son to the cinema and we built a bond (ha no pun). Just a film, is something I'll watch once or twice and that'll be it. But there's something in these films that is much much more than that.
Infact I would go so far to say, that Bond has become part of British
Culture -{ ( perhaps world culture ) . There used to be an old joke about

Because over time Bond became a part of life, part of Christmas, with so
many families sitting around watching. With huge viewing figures that easily
Matched any big sporting event. -{
Back to the song, I thought it interesting in the Mark Kermode review of the
Film. He mentioned the fantastic titles and how well the theme song worked with
Them. Infact he said, it gives "meaning to the song" and it works perfectly. {[] I'm
Really happy about this, as it's what I've said myself, that after seeing the movie the
Song may resonate more with fans.

yes great music sitting there 10 foot from the screen ,I did hope that the sound system in our cinema (Bluewater ) would at least be as good as me Beemer ) but I cant work out for the life of me ,the people in power went ahead with it ,but hey wot do I know
I know hate Smith even more X-(
As much as I dislike Sam Smith and didn't like the song when it was released, once I saw it in context during the title sequence I have change my opinion of it.
The song is better when viewed as part of the film, and grows on you when you can contextualize it.
Daniel Kleinman helped make the song better than it has any right to be. The real musical villain of Spectre is Thomas Newman with his unacceptably lazy score.
I agree that Danny Kleinman does Sam Smith an enormous favour by distracting the audience from the shortcomings of this awful song and adding to the credits sequence emotional beats of his own.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
I didn't think hearing the song within the context of the movie would change my opinion of it, but in a way it has. It gives my ears a break from Thomas Newman. The orchestration has the Bond sound lacking from the rest of the film. I could still do without Sam Smith's voice and lyrics, and thus the instrument version works extremely well in the love scene on the train.
Ugh, Kleinman's titles animation has been a disappointment after what is probably my favorite of all time with Casino Royale. As for the Smith song, it worked fine. Added a dimension of "adultness" to the series that we haven't seen much with all the poppy songs. After Adele's slushy diction in Skyfall, it was nice to actually be able to understand the lyrics, though Smith's song isn't as good.
Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre.
Yes we were. It didn't work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much.
As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it.
Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.

I heard Sam sing it live on Graham Norton earlier, fantastic ! {[]
I watched that too, it really is growing on me.
I personally think it's rubbish. But hey ho!!

The only thing I didn't really get was having DC with his shirt off, it kind of cheapened it a bit for me and I thought it was not really necessary.

Okay so for that reason I'm glad they went with Sam Smith.
