[SPOILERS] Quantum of Solace. Was it really THAT bad?

It had the misfortune of being sandwiched between two of the series most acclaimed films. Hype backlash perhaps? So many lists I've seen rank Quantum of Solace as one of the worst, many calling it "crap". While it doesn't reach the height of some of the other films in the series, I was waiting for it to get bad, and it never was.

I'm curious as to what makes the film bad. Lack of cool gadgets? The fact that the villain is a regular person? I've heard some criticize it for being purely a revenge story, yet that in and of itself does not absolve the villain from their wrongdoing. Greene was still a threat and it was still fair-game to stop him, even if Bond was driven by a personal agenda. The film handled some complex themes such as Latin American politics, political/corporate corruption, what a world with cornered utilities looks like and idea of the United States being the lesser evil in foreign affairs. All of these things provoke a lot of thought.

I concur that the editing (constant change of camera angles) made the action sometimes naueseating but what exactly does QoS do so bad that makes it one of the worst? If there are 20 films better in the series better than QoS, then I'm in for a treat.

Anyone wanna fill me in on why its so hated?
