Well lads and lasses, there are some interesting props coming up at Juliens in the US on 5th December including an Ericsson JB988 Gadget Phone from Tomorrow Never Dies and a miniature (80") SPECTRE helicopter from the Little Nellie aerial battle in You Only Live Twice, once the property of Dave Worrall:

Thanks for the clarification -{
I know the original vendor of the Propstore piece & therefore from where/who on set it originated from. The misleading statement in the current JB988 auction is there were believed to be 4 phones. It should say 4 types of phone There were also two different styles of promo JB988 created, one of which was very SA -{
One of the problems is that the PR guy at Ericsson issued WAY more of the promo models (which were also supposed to be limited to twelve each, I think) than the acknowledged edition number; I have one of the "twelve" of which I know there are at least two dozen ... if not more. As noted, these are very nearly SA, reasons why soooo many people claim theirs is production-used.
Mine isn't dead-on (the braille pips and center pad are just slightly off) but since it is Ericsson-issued in the custom case, etc., I'm content with it.
Same with the Spectre agent chairs from TB.

Same chair as used for seats on Goldfinger's jet, albeit with an extended back. Made by G Plan. Model 6250 -- "the most comfortable chair in the world" -- was discontinued in '82 but so many customers wanted "The Blofeld Chair" (as it's commonly known), they brought it back this year.
Thanks, PMJB! {[]

You're welcome donk, and I know what u mean. I think it was amazingly cheap but expected a war so left well alone. I was out with the owner last night, and told him it'd go for $24k, so I can pretend I meant the all-in extortion price not the hammer
Besides, you already have too many gorgeous pieces!!!

I really wanted that chair though
I'm going to disagree, Paul. I recognize that it's all up to any given buyer and thus whatever the market will allow but at some point we need to be realistic on the prices some of this stuff is fetching. I specifically went because I wanted to have a first hand look at the 'copter and I think, frankly, $19K was too much given the condition; restored, conceivably, but not for the piece as is and not given that: 1) there are two others and 2) it simply isn't that iconic.
We all know a certain someone is going to be posting tomorrow that Julien's deserve to be shut down for failing to better advertise the sale, letting it go as cheaply as they did, etc., but I just don't see this as on a par with, say, the TB sea tow and this model sold for roughly half the gavel price of the tow; they just aren't comparable (and I suspect he posted about the tow going too cheaply as well).
I will say I don't think Julien's is the right venue for this material; yes they sold the Oddjob derby but they generally don't have the track record in movie memorabilia that the cornerstone pieces here deserved. Even with a teleprompter, it was some of the most bollixed-up selling I've ever observed; describing a lot as an "autographed copy of Man with a Gun [Lee-signed Man With the Golden Gun] really shouldn't be happening (I felt compelled to correct the auctioneer during the Lost in Space segment noting "the name is Bill MUMY, NOT Bill MURRAY!").
I have to agree that when you can get an identical piece, well, why not? For USD $13K you're never going to sit in the original (well, not for more than a moment, anyway). Granted, there's the provenance and knowing you have a screen-used piece and all but for an "off-the-rack" item still available from the same maker, etc. I would find it perfectly serviceable.
If I'd won -- and I was absolutely prepared to bid the high-end estimate -- I would have hung it up in my Bond room. But there is something a bit telling that the first time it had really been out of the crate since it was last sold ... was for this latest auction.
I do agree that a piece like that needs to be on display & not locked in a darkened crate and yes it would require restoration but how far do you go? IMO only, the IFF have over restored their SPECTRE helicopter and Thunderball tow sled, for the latter utilising the wrong colour tones, switch gear, gauges & omitting certain essential detailing.
I can't find it on the list as it has not been sold.
Thanks!

Which guns are you referring to? I know the Trek phaser was pulled at the last minute, I presume because it was found to possibly be fake.
I talked with the owner after the sale; I can put you in contact with him (it might not be any secret -- he's a well-known collector -- but don't want to publish here just in case).
