What a great morning! Not only do we have the title, the cast, locations but also the teaser poster as well.
Already downloaded the teaser to my iphone as wallpaper.
I think I am going to pop!

Love the title. First thought I had was how it would be abbreviated on the forums -- man, we are serious nerds! :))

Personally, I like S. Let's break some new ground.

It seems like a return to form, between Craig's statement of it being a more humorous Bond and the title being Spectre, perhaps the series will go back to being a goofy spy movie rather than being inspired off of the more modern films.

I read a post stating the film was a huge two fingers up to the McClory estate.
Who had the rights to Blofeld and spectre for years. ;) ......... Who knows

Most likely there was an element of that involved. And rightly so. Ian Fleming created Bond. Blofeld and SPECTRE. All that Kevin McClory could probably do in between martinis was come up with the "steal a nuclear device and blackmail the world", which was probably cliched even in 1961. Then he went on sue and sue and sue for the rest of his life. What a creative mind.

I agree about the McClory Statement, he was a Pain in the Backside and was unable to let the whole Blofeld Issue go.

Love the title. I think it's great. I tend to prefer short, sweet titles like this.

Can't wait for the film. Hope it's a good one.

I was at first quite sceptical, but hell: "A cryptic message from an unlikely source sets James Bond navigating the layers of a sinister organisation known as SPECTRE. As M continues fighting political pressures that threaten the future of the Secret Sevice, Bond draws closer to uncovering a hidden truth that threatens to destroy everything he has fought to protect."

This sounds astonishing, can't wait! Seems like it may be a Skyfall follow up in some way.

Not too shaken by this really, once again can't see how they'll get a song out of it. 'Ooh, he works for Spectre / When he met Tracy, he wrecked her / In revenge for Bond stealing the Lector / Or is that going back too far?'

It sounds like a lot of heavy weather, at odds with the talk about making it more humorous. That said, SF was heavy too and that had more humour. It does all look quite dark though, again, and it comes out in winter. Cheery stuff.

Seems like Quantum just reached a dead end, they sort of messed that whole thing up if so.

Though McClory was a pain in the rear and tried to milking his involvement in TB as much as possible, there are 2 or more stories about who has created SPECTRE.

Until his death, MCClory held the rights on SPECTRE so it's not as clear as you are trying to suggest.

Wow, they really used all their creative talent to come up with this title, didn't they?

I don't really care, as long as the movie is good.

    Wow, wasn't expecting that!
I feel like maybe they were trying to keep his inclusion under wraps to act as a surprise for the audience.
Wish he hadn't said anything now, would've been a big but welcome surprise. Though I guess it would've leaked eventually.

It does seem that way. Will probably get a slap on the wrist.

If they wanted us to know he was in the movie, surely they would've told us?

Fleming, Whittingham and McClory wrote the screen treatment for TB, and Fleming used it to write TB novel without their permission. However, and I speculate, I believe the truly creative mind was Ian Fleming. Fleming was good with words and names, so I'd say he came up with both Blofeld and SPECTRE. McClory's credits after TB consisted of NSNA.
