Do you want SPECTRE to be just as good as Skyfall or better?

By the way, we haven't had the same director since John Glen, have we? I mean, sure Martin Campbell did two, but not two consecutive Bond films in a row... ;) -{

Of course, Terence Young did two in a row, a long time ago. And John Glen did two in a row on his way to doing five consecutive Bond films but again that was a long time ago.
I hate Anne Hathaway's Catwoman.

    I always want the new Bond film to be a classic, so I'm hoping for the best!

    Hopefully, SPECTRE is just as good as Octopussy (John Glen's second Bond film) it's too much to ask if SPECTRE is just as good as From Russia With Love, because that film set the bar of quality, way too high.

    I hope it'll be at least as good as Craig's best, CR. Everything points in that direction: great director, great cast, and strong evidence that this movie will channel Ian Fleming.

    I find this to be a bit of a strange and redundant question. I can't imagine who here would want to limit how good any upcoming Bond film is. Maybe a Sam Mendes or Daniel Craig hater, but even then I doubt it.

    I always want the next Bond film to be the BEST ever. Surely everyone on the AJB boards wants that.
    So "just as good as Skyfall or better"?
    Well better, obviously. I mean I loved Skyfall (eventually, I hated it on the first few viewings). But reach higher each time I say.

    Come on Spectre, amaze us all.

    Considering Skyfall is my rock-bottom, least favorite Bond film, and the only Bond film that I dislike…..well, it should be easy to top.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

    I always thought that Skyfall was great, when compared to Quantum of Solace and Die Another Day. -{

    Definitely better. Skyfall was a good James Bond film but not a great one. I agree that Casino Royale remains Craig's best all around. If Spectre has the better writing and scope of the classic Bond films, it could well be a truly great film.

    Objectively yes, but I prefer QOS for its lean-ness.

    It might be one of the best ever.

    I agree with everything. With SPECTRE I get the feeling of, "let's do a classic one". With SF they did a good one, did great business, won two oscars (five nominations in total!). But it didn't end up being the hands down classic that CR is. I can feel EON's ambition now.

    It's like a new golden age for Bond.

    I feel like that its going to be the old and the new together. Similiar to Skyfall. It will be a Bond film, but will fresh and new.
    That's what I sense from the force at the moment anyway.

    Its fine if Bond finds a twin sister.
    Its what he does after he finds out that fact...

    Hoping the script will be a bit tighter and there will be fewer plot holes than in Skyfall. And that Bond himself will fair better. He failed to save M, failed to save Severine, failed to kill Silva on the London Underground, failed to retrieve the disc at the start of the film. He had the consolation of killing Silva at the end of the film. But even there Silva was ready to die because he knew M had a fatal wound. Also, not a fan of the third act, particularly in its execution. Though I admire the writers & Sam Mendes for trying something different.

    So there is room for improvement, IMO. The early indications regarding SPECTRE are promising indeed. Bring it on. :D

    I think Another Way to Die should have been the title to Daniel Craig's second Bond film. And the actual song should have been an instrumental like From Russia With Love and On Her Majesty's Secret Service... -{

    Thunderbird Too! I think CR-06 is the best one to date. Here's hoping SPEC doesn't have SFL's plot blunders.
