Do you want SPECTRE to be just as good as Skyfall or better?

    I'd think either is pretty unlikely, so you're safe!

    I know some people seem very worried about SPECTRE, but honestly
    I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas eve. :)) Can't see them making a
    Hash of it. I really think we're in for a brilliant film. -{

    Why are people worried??? My God... we haven't even started... :))

    The new mantra should be

    CR was brilliant... QoS a bit of a miss (although I loved it) Skyfall getting back on track - SPECTRE will be back on form. I have no doubts.

    Let's keep the faith folks... everything so far seems to be adding up well. From the more traditional M, the padded door... an organisation from the books.... it's going to be a hit. :007) -{ :D B-)

    Exactly, I think we're in for a really great film. With some outstanding
    Performances, bloody hell look at the cast they've assembled. {[]
    I'm hoping they give us a Blofeld, good enough to scare kids ! :))

    If Lexi's buying, I'll have a Baileys and ice, ( With an umbrella ) ;)

    Yes, at a SPECTRE meeting, I'd be the one everyone would be
    Rolling their eyes about ! :))

    Although, I don't know where the worries are coming from.

    Y'know, speaking of that, Bond's saying it was very cute, but the exposed Tong sign & the octopus rings in TB were a bit much, don't you think? Or were they subtly trying to ease us into the mindset of the next film?

    NO OCTOPUS RINGS IN SPECTRE PLEASE! -{

    I always thought he was trying to get a reaction from Largo. In the same
    Way, with Bond in SF, countering Silva with " What makes you think this is
    My first time " ;)
    We have had Quantum's Q lapel pin so who knows what SPECTRE has in its
    " novelties and souvenirs " bin. :D

    About a year ago I met a friend of a friend and the topic of Skyfall came up. He hated it! With a passion! His James Bond was Roger Moore (we're approximately the same age and I also grew up with Moore as my first Bond and as Bond for me, so it wasn't a generational thing) and he felt Bond should always have the humour, the gadgets, a wacky Q etc etc. Skyfall - and CR and QoS - were anathema to him and he felt alienated.

    Now that we know the next Bond is called Spectre and Blofeld's back, we seem to have found another group of people who are terrified that we're going back to a more unrealistic Bond - perhaps not quite Moore's, but early Connery with hook-handed villains and magnificent lairs. In short, everyone has their favourite Bond and what they either believe to be what Bond is supposed to be, or what they most enjoy it to be. For some it most definitely isn't DC and for other's it's definitely not SC or RM.

    However, I do not think that Spectre and Blofeld are mutually exclusive of the darker, more gritty DC Bond. It will be a modern Spectre and a modern Blofeld. Instead of Special Executive for Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, we might well be looking at something like the Social Pact for the Extermination of Capitalism, Trade, Racism and Ecological-terrorism.

    Yes, that's right. In the novel, Bond thinks "I will see if an association of words does something to him" just before the spectre of defeat/evil eye exchange.

    I would just like to see some imagination and repartee again -- for a long time, the villains seemed nor more fantastic than a cranky Bill Gates type selling arms/drugs/media/technology or a rogue agent of some sort. They went through the standard motions but had little to no color in their personalities, and their organizations were as scary as Walmart. If it takes the Nehru jacket and a volcanic lair to spark some fun, then so be it.

    Definitely better. Skyfall was a good James Bond film but not a great one. I agree that Casino Royale remains Craig's best all around. If Spectre has the better writing and scope of the classic Bond films, it could well be a truly great film.

    Agree! -{

    No, I want Spectre to be worse than SF, maybe the worst in the series :D

    So, you want another Quantum of Solace or Die Another Day? :D

    More like another Moonraker or A View To A Kill! :D
