Mail Online interview with Tanya Roberts, who looks back and comments on her experience as a Bond girl in A View To A Kill, the people she worked with, and whether she has any regrets.

Pierce Brosnan is set to star opposite Jackie Chan in an untitled action thriller that will be directed by Martin Campbell. Brosnan will play Liam Hennessy, a former IRA member-turned-government official.
Before Skyfall fell into place, Oscar-nominated Frost/Nixon screenwriter Peter Morgan was hired to work on a script with franchise regulars Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. Morgan's lost Skyfall plot has finally been revealed thanks to the new book Some Kind of Hero: The Remarkable Story of the James Bond Films by Matthew Field and Ajay Chowdhury.
‘Daniel Craig ran into Idris Elba, who has long been mentioned in any Bond-replacement discussion, at the bar. "He came up to me, looked me in the eyes, grabbed my face and kissed me on the cheek," says Elba, who gave Craig a hard time for talking to the media about the Beasts of No Nation star playing 007. Elba says Craig laughed: "They asked me if you can play Bond. What am I going to say? No?”…

I guess due to them getting the go ahead for Casino Royale etc Brozzers days were numbered due to his age and the story. Guess they could have delayed CR by a movie however sounds like there are two sides to the story as a few times read about Brozzer wanting a pay rise (then again cant blame him)
I really like Brosnan, really likeable guy and enjoy his films however DAD pushed things a bit too much and I must admit was starting to get a little disillusioned with Bond at the time. This was obviously EONs fault but change was necessary - just for refreshment. Guess people now feel the same about DC but I personally want one more out of him

Getting the rights to CR and wanting to make CR had alone should have not ruled out Brosnan. Nothing in Fleming's CR story would have made Brosnan too old for CR. Bond was not a new agent in the CR novel, and the origin story elements in the film are unique to the film. MGW wanted to do a reboot (which Cubby previously got in the way of doing), and he used the excuse that since CR is the first novel, the film should to be about Bond's origins. The film's story being a reboot and Bond's first mission has nothing to do with getting the rights to CR. I think there would have been a reboot whether or not they got the rights to film CR.

True but isn't his age revealed to be mid to late 30's later in the books
EDIT (no time to dig out my books to see if true so a quick google - dont take this as gospel)
Moonraker implies he was 37 in 1954 (he has 8 years until he loses his 00 status at age 45) making his birth year 1917.
As Casino Royale takes place in 1951 or 1952 he was 36.
