There's always been a scene in OHMSS which pops up with Bond/Sir Hilary/Phidian which confused me - its the Bond goes after Phidian at the College of Arms. I know it was done because photos were taken..

Here it is i its entirety. Judge for yourself whether it should have been included.

"18 Dead" is actually "19 Dead" on Campbell's newspaper. I'm surprised the re-constructor would make such an obvious typo. Is the rest of the story credible? Sounded like quite a good chase scene. Why was it scrapped ?

I think it wasn't used, because it added too much time to the film
And really didn't add much to dive the story forward.

I think at this stage the film is pacey. It has to jump from the College of arms straight the train whistling in Switzerland.

Wasn't the first cut of the film nearly five hours long..??..legend has it a second cut ran to over three hours...so scenes had to be cut...I'd have preferred the scene to have been left in...

Wow, a 5 hour version would be awesome. OHMSS Part 1 and Part 2.

I'd pay 1k Euros to get the 5 hours version on B-R and 500 for the 3 hr version.....

Maybe we should do a crowdfunding and then approach EON
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

I wonder if the removed Sequences are still in the Archives of Eon?

I don't think they are...I don't think they bothered back then...although a couple of scenes turned up and were put back in...so I guess you never know !

I would have loved to have seen this sequence in the film -- it fleshes out so much of the story more and connects to the novel, where Bond constantly seems only one sliver away from disaster from moment to moment.

But what could those 150 unseen minutes consist of? I mean, they followed pretty faithfully the novel as it was released. Did they film the whole plastic surgery going from Connery to Lazenby?

No, that idea was dropped very early on.

Mostly filler, establishing shots, needless exposition, maybe an actual scene or two. The deleted stuff from Blade Runner is probably similar; 40 minutes long- a couple of scenes & tons of alternate takes & extended shots.
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

I just watched the Bluray this past weekend, and I noticed a very interesting added scene (not on the original DVDs). When Bond leaves Draco and Tracy in the car to visit the swiss law firm, in the DVD we stay with Bond. In the Bluray we go back to the car with Draco and Tracy and she anknowledges that she knows Bond isn't in love with her. Very important if you consider that later in Piz Gloria Bond sleeps with as many patients as he can.

I thought she says to her father's question " Mr Bond is in love with you ?"
She replies " That may come too ", Which I always took to mean, she could
Tell he was starting to fall in love with her.

Her body language conveys that she knows he's not in love with her. Then she replies "That may come too...someday". Draco says "life is too short for someday...I will talk to him, man to man", and she says "no talk, whatever happens there'll be no regrets". She knows he's a womanizer. Then when they meet in the village and she helps him escape, he really falls for her there. It's actually more powerful.

Does your copy have the scene where Shaun Campbell tries to get on the cable car but is turned away by Grunther? That scene isn't in every version.

If there was a Scene with Bond having Plastic Surgery, then they would have had to do that every time a new Actor took the Role.

I'm surprised to hear that. I have several versions (VHS, DVD, Ultimate DVD, BluRay) and I would have sworn that scene was in every one of them. Now I have to go back and re-watch them all! :))

Based on what I recall from reading "The Making of On Her Majesty's Secret Service", I think you're right.
