How do you celebrate Christmas?

I thought I should start this thread to spread some Yuletide spirit :) Just tell us how you usually spend your Christmas. Unlike a couple of other threads here I keep my tongue well away from my cheek and I promise no photos of Smalahove. :))

I'll go first: Until I was well into my thirties Santa hanged a huge knitted stocking full of sweets on my bedroom door knob. Then we sit in front of the TV eating candy and watch "From all of us to all of you" ("When you wish upon a star ...." and "Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel" (Badly dubbed by a male actor :D ) Later we go to church. After three o'clock we change into our best clothes and put the presents under the Christmas tree. About five o'clock we eat sheep's rib with puree Swede and potatoes. For desert we eat cloudberries and whipped cream.

Before we sold Our farm animals we would feed them after dinner. We gave them axtra portions and leftover puree Swede.
When that was done it was time for singing Christmas carols around the tree. Next one of the younger members of the family reads the Christmas gospel from the Bible. Only then can the presents be opened. Everyone takes turns opening packages while the rest sit and watch - no rush! After thanking everyone we eat Christmas cookies.

What is your Christmas like?

I could also say things are hung from my knob too on Christmas :v
But I won't go down that road.
With us ( not being religious ) the decorations go up about a week before
My wife and daughters go to a midnight service ( I don't as I'm an atheist )
While there away, I usually eat chocolate biscuits and knock back a few
    Black Russians.
On the day itself, we're up opening presents, eating sweets, Breakfast is
Usually thick ham sandwiches made with toast. The lunch is the traditional
Turkey and ham, with all the trimmings. Watch the Big film, eat more sweets.
Forgot to add there's also a bit of driving to relatives to wish them a happy
    Christmas etc
Tea time Turkey / ham sandwiches, then this year watching the Dr Who special.
Then a bit of playing whatever games board / DVD interactive that have come as
    Presents.
I also try and say " Bah humbug !" Plenty of times. :)) I think it's the same old
    Standard Christmas.

I'm spending Christmas Day the same way I spent last Christmas Day: singing in a restaurant while dressed as Santa Claus! :))

A couple of us might have a beer at dinner, but intoxication during Christmas is unthinkable in our family.

It's nice to read about other people's Christmas traditions. Keep posting, good people :)

When I was younger, we'd have the Christmas dinner before 3 so
We'd all be able to get into the living room to settle down, because
For years after The Queen's message, there'd be the big Bond film {[]

My husband loves Bond even more than I do. He found an antique toy gondola and has set it up to run up and down our banister and then across our loft. I made a tiny Lazenby out of clay to sit on top of it. On Christmas we will get rather drunk and watch "A Christmas Story" on loop.

At work yesterday to get into the spirit I constructed this:

I've always wanted to have Christmas in Turkey
