I think I like Sheriff Pepper more in TMWTGG, although overall I wouldn't say I'm a big fan of him.
It's funny because you'd expect a fan of campy Bond like myself to love Sheriff Pepper, but I'm just not that big on him.

Exactly, now it's normal to use the phrase "who will be the next James Bond?".Back in 1972, that just didn't exist. Connery was Bond. Another guy had replaced him and failed, so he had to come back in DAF. It must have been quite challenging for Moore.
GL didn't fail playing Bond, OHMSS is better than all Sir Rogers films Imho.

Well, DAF does have the advantage of a top-rate John Barry score- and Sean Connery. Those (very important) factors aside, I'd say LALD is the more enjoyable movie. Simple answer- it depends on the mood I'm in!

It's a toss-up. Most days I'd go with DAF because it's Connery, but there's a lot to like in LALD (my 2nd favourite Moore Bond). DAF and LALD's theme songs are both in my top five, for sure.

There are no white villains in LALD, but at least there's a white fool- if he wasn't there, all the main white characters (Bond, Solitaire, Felix) are heroic. Similarly, there are two heroic black characters (Quarrel, Strutter) otherwise the main black characters (Kananga/Mr Big, TeeHee, Baron Samedi) are all villains.

For some weird reason, Kananga just doesn't hit me that hard as a BV, apart from that scene when he removes his mask and later slaps Solitaire. Doesn't quite strike me the way Zorin, Scaramanga, Drax, or Carver do.

Live and Let Die is a great Bond movie. I love it.
I just saw a recent-ish interview in which Moore was asked whether he prefers Live and Let Die or For Your Eyes Only. He wholeheartedly backed LALD. I love when actors answer questions honestly.
They are 2 very different films.
The Moore Era was really special, and you can tell by the way people are split on whic films of said era they like more.

Hmm, I don't find the storyline that interesting - and Moore isn't settled in yet. While I think it's a cool movie, the final boat chase stuff is awesome - it just doesn't do it for me like other films do.
Then again, it may move up on my BluRay marathon occurring now!

I agree. While I like his performance in L&LD, I feel that he didn't nail Bond as quickly as Connery, Dalton, or Brosnan. I give Moore an A minus for his L&LD performance, whereas I give Connery an A average in DN (it's for his GF performance that I give an A plus), the same to Brosnan in GE, and an A plus to Dalton for his TLD performance.

Roger was excellent in every Bond film he was in and hit the ground running in LALD. He made the part his own from his very first scene and never looked back. -{
For me, he was very good in L&LD, but had a gradual progression until he peaked in TSWLM, repeating the feat in MR and OP.
But I will say that, for me, all his performances ranged from good to fantastic.
