I do not think so. For me, Mister White does not have enough authority/charisma. I see him more as second in the chain of command. It will most likely be Christopher Waltz's character Franz Oberhauser. If not, then there will probably be a big reveal at the end of the film.

I said this somewhere on another thread. It makes sense to me if Mr White took over Quantum and created Spectre. I like the idea of Bond and MI6 being so close but never knowing who he really was. Also Mr White - White cat? Could be a link there I guess.

Who knows - maybe Silva worked for SPECTRE too, promising to get SPECTRE secretly into MI6, but maybe he rebelled and went his separate way to put his revenge campaign on M to action. It might be all linked.

I trust Mendes and the scriptwriters have everythign sorted out. They impressed me with Skyfall.
I agree. I didn't think I'd like Skyfall, but it completely surpassed my expectations. I'm proud to call it my second favourite Bond film of all-time.
It really showed me that they were fans of the films they were making. They were actually giving the series a lot of time and energy and thought. Unlike the rushed feeling I got from the Brosnan Films.

I would be impressed if they reveal Mr. White to be Blofeld.
He has not had much screen time but has always been "lurking". And as someone said above, they had him but didn't realise who they had.
It would be a good move I think, they could do it as someone else said, Mr. White actually takes over and creates/ becomes the head of SPECTRE in this film then reveals his true name to be Blofeld.

I would like Mr.White to be caught up in something too big for himself! Waltz to be the front for spectre(the mouth piece)...and a huge surprize who Blofeld really is

Both men had a painful demise (likely by White or his people) after it was shown that their flaws made them unreliable partners.
"Quantum" was a group of people put together by Greene (with the help of White). No one has ever said that White actually answered to Greene.
It would seem to me that White had been working for someone or another organization the whole time. Where did White's funding and connections come from? Was Dominic Greene the mastermind who secretly helped Le Chifre? Not likely. Quantum was an organization that did what they did, run by Greene. They never gave the implication that Greene was directly White's superior or that any of the other members where anything other than autonomous individuals coming together to exploit the riches of other countries.
White was a part of that organization, backed financially by his superior Ernst Blofeld. His comments regarding "we have people everywhere" referred to the fact that SPECTRE had it's hand in ALL forms of criminal enterprises and organizations and could turn people they needed via money and blackmail. They secretly funded all kinds of operations (Le Chifre, Quantum) and survived because they were secret, and because White eliminated his partners before they became liabilities.
White works for SPECTRE which is headed by Christoph Waltz's character (whoever he ends up being). Quantum died with Greene just as Le Chiffre's operation died with him.
This would seem to make perfect sense and tie all the Craig movies (other than Skyfall) together. That is unless SPECTRE was also secretly funding Silva's operation with start-up costs, men, infrastructure, etc. which is very possible.
