So how do you think they are going to introduce this 'rebooted' S.P.E.C.T.R.E.?

The name already exists and is in the minds of Bond fans everywhere, and the notion of having a character like M explaining to Bond there is some New Evil Organisation at work would already be redundant.

Would you really care about this matter, or not?

To make a team of perfect Bond clones, which 007 must try and fight.
At the same time Blofeld has caused a passing comet to crash into
earth.
Back in the office M falls in love with Moneypenny and becomes like
A love sick puppy, leaving Tanner to take over, just as he becomes addicted
To Mr Kipling's French Fancies !
Q, while working on a time traveling gadget, accidentally, travels to the
Past and must try and break up the romance between M and Moneypenny.

Both QUANTUM and SPECTRE have seven letters. They could work with that, so that QUANTUM is a coded name for the real name of the organization.

I am most certainly in the minority here, but I don't want SPECTRE at all.

I am of the opinion that Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace set up the stage for an excellent trilogy - the first of its kind in the Bond franchise.

AND THEY RUINED IT!

Love or hate Quantum of Solace, it followed up on the 'big picture' of the story of the villains and explored how Bond was hunting them down.

At its conclusion, he had penetrated a key part of the organization, finally captured the agent that turned Vesper, etc.

We were primed for a THIRD ACT which would have been, ideally, an attack on QUANTUM that would lead to some sort of catharsis with Mr. White being dealt justice.

Instead, we got Skyfall. I am not here to talk about whether Skyfall is good or not, plenty of threads about that. I'm here to bitch about the fact that the Casino Royale/QUANTUM storyline is still unfinished.

I'm going to be very candid, right now. I really didn't like that Skyfall didn't follow up on the arc, and if SPECTRE doesn't as well, then I'm done. I'm just done. I was lucky to live in a world in which the Bond franchise matured into something new, something adult, with story arcs and chapters and development and stuff. As a fan of the books, I've always wanted Bond to 'grow up' and be serious for a change.

In the Fleming novels, there's an excellent trilogy of books - Thunderball, OHMSS, and YOLT (with TMWTGG as a dessert). Fleming actually made a damned good story arc that chronicled Bond's struggle against an inhuman opponent, and it was fantastic. The movies were doing everything right in this regard, and then Skyfall came around.

Skyfall was okay as a movie in its own right (plot holes and muddled themes aside...). But -

Failing to follow up on CR/QoS will just reset the franchise once again back to what it was before the Daniel Craig tenure began - a rather disconnected mess of flavor-of-the-month entries. I want to get back to the story arc and finish it out with a bang. Skyfall should have been the ending to a great trilogy.

I also want closure but glad Skyfall was not about Quantum, I think a one film break from that storyline was a good idea (prob also commercially required since QoS is a bit marmite with critics and fans). I mean its still a trilogy if they finish off Quantum in SPECTRE right?

It looks like we are def going to see / find out what happens to Quantum in SPECTRE since Mr White is cast again.

DN,Frwl had Spectre story lines and were basically a two parter Then GF no Spectre followed by TB and YOLT again both about Spectre. I believe the same is going to happen here.

I am of the opinion that Quantum will most likely be taken over by SPECTRE. A great pre title sequence could be Bond finally tracking Mr White down to Mexico only to discover him mortally wounded by an assassins gunshot. He could confess to Bond in his last dying breaths that his organization has now been taken over by a group more terrifying and deadly than Quantum- SPECTRE. Maybe we could see Mr Hinx be the one to kill Mr White?

I think one of the most exciting things about the film is to see how they handle the whole Mr. White/Quantum/Spectre situation.

Potential to make a mess of it but plenty of opportunities for it to be excellent.

I have the feeling Bond's parents are going to get into play more in SPECTRE. There we're of course the tomb stones in Skyfall, now I think Bond's going to learn how they died and find out that Blofeld turned out to have killed his parents... (Something like that)

But I'm not happy. it smacks to me of a bit of Harry Potter as if Bond was the
Boy spy destined to join mi6 and so on.

I don't know who plays Blofeld, I have not checked anything Sony hack related (did you?) Not even sure if it is revealed in the Sony hack... But I kind of have been assuming since the beginning that Christoph Waltz is Blofeld. It seems very obvious.

Also since he is playing Oberhauser, being a climbing and skiing instructor, I think it makes sense he has something to do with the climbing accident Bond's parents died in...

Good point. Didn't look at it the Harry Potter way yet.. But they did hint there was a sense of contuinity from Skyfall into this, it's kind of like you can already guess certain stuff might happen. I remember during very early Skyfall production I made a thread "Do you think this is Judi Dench's Swanson?" It wasn't said or confirmed anywhere but you could kind of feel they were going to kill her off...

It doesn't give that much away? It is the entire (first draft) of the screenplay that got leaked though right? You would think that would give away most of the information.

Since this is all pure speculation, if Waltz is Blofeld, who says he has to kill Bonds Parents? We already know Bond never liked the Skyfall home. His parents are buried at Skyfall. Maybe Bond has his parents exhumed and wants to put them in a proper cemetery. During the transport to the cemetery, Blofeld, steals the bodies and destroys them by burning them then disposing of the ashes. Or maybe Blofeld kills Kincaid in front of Bond.
