    I wonder what's CHB's ranking of the Bonds is.

    Here's my guess:

    1) Connery
    2) Craig
    3) Dalton
    4) Lazenby
    5) Moore
    6) Brosnan

    This is the 2nd time I've seen you make assumptions about how another member would rank the bonds. I'm just wondering what you're hoping to accomplish by doing so. Do you feel you're pointing something specific out about what type of fan they are?

    I can say that (based on the Pm's), all that it is, is that AP is genuinely interested in other people's opinions on the Bond films. A fact, that's refreshing to read about and good! so if I may say so, his intentions are strictly honorable (SC'swords though).

    " Hey there's no i in Justice League !" :)). ( Big Bang Theory)

    At this special time of year. I like to think we can take others dreams, opinions
    assumptions and put them with our own. In a very special and beautiful kind
    of way. In a Universal Bond of love, compassion and brotherhood. I believe new
    Bond fans are the future treat them well and let them lead the way. Show them all
    The beauty they possess inside.

    On topic, GE rocks mostly, and in no small part because it was done on the cheap (as Bond films go).

    Was it? I read it was the first 007 movie with computer special effects, not sure if they save you money or quite the opposite...

    Yes it was, and they looked fantastic.

    Then the GoldenEye satellite was made with a computer, and that looked really awful. I forgot how bad it looked until a co-worker who watched it recently pointed it out to me since I hadn't watched GoldenEye in years. Today, that could easily be done well, but 20 years ago it was a struggle.

    One thing I like about Goldeneye is the blend of CGI and Derek Medding's model work.

    But some of the CGI does look quite bad, like the trail from the missiles sent up from the chopper...

    Well, it was the 90s. Back then, CGI wasn't used the same way it's used now.

    Jurassic Park came out in 1993, Goldeneye came out in 1995

    Mind you we were years away from the truly awful cgi ie the Tidal wave

    Wow! This is the first time such a response has been initiated from one of my reviews - GE obviously has passionate supporters and detractors. For the record, like AP, I enjoy reading other AJBer's points of view and those views are always respected by myself even if I don't happen to agree with them. I'm looking forward to the response to my TND review which I hope to watch later tonight. A very merry Christmas to all -{ -{ -{

    I would not criticize GE on the technical front as I would like to believe that it did the best it could in the allocated budget and resources at that time

    I rank it at the bottom mainly for its crude elements and laborious watching experience - PTS starts off well and the title sequence is nice too. Post title sequence it opens up nicely with the AM-Ferrari chase, and then it starts going downhill:

    * Onatopp - 'I like it straight up with a twist'
    * That horrible scene b/w Onatopp and Admiral on the yatch
    * Onatopp comical approach to the original pilots of Tiger
    * Yawn inducing intro of Natalya and Boris
    * Onatopp comically shoots everyone at that base in Russia
    * Wade gives a peek of his bottom and Muffy
    * Natalya messages Boris
    * Unrefined singing at the club
    * Crude fight sequence b/w Onatopp and Bond at the indoor pool
    * Blah blah b/w Bond and Trevelyan
    * Natalya shouts horribly in the Tiger helicopter to awaken Bond (mute button required)
    * Yawn inducing dialog b/w Bond and Natalya inside the Russian base
    * Blah blah in the train
    * Wade takes the car away
    * Bond and Natalya fly in the TMWTGG fashion to find the lair
    * Lair hidden like in YOLT
    * Onatopp's death :s
    * ....
    * And the worst ending sequence of the franchise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq_I7ys1R64
