Waltz has a certain subdued menace about him, the opening scene in inglorious basterds was a masterclass in being utterly polite and pleasant with an undertone of menacing psycopath

I absolutely loved the spectre meeting, as he entered the room you could sense the
Fear spreading across all those present. -{ and beautifully filmed with superb lighting.

It was very well done. And Blofeld has always been calm in his manner, even while feeding fighting fish to his cat or electrocuting one of his members. Only Charles gray in the role differed.

:)) Ok I guess since 3-4 months in significant,

You are here since 2 months - he's here for 6

I had little hope that you understand that this is significantly more than your stay - particularly as you have labelled him with "little experince"

Irrelevant comparison .... If 2 months is less, 6 is less too .... Sometimes you don't even understand people despite spending a lifetime with them

Also experience works on many dimensions. For e.g. just talking about forums, you are here since 2005 and that could be your only forum experience. On the other hand, I could have been posting on forums for longer than that .... On the other hand, you could be 60 years old and thus may have more life experience than me but then I could have more business related experience and can turn a company around in 2 months while you probably may not even get through the paperwork .... so there are many dimensions to experience

Additionally, your opinion on how his attitude is could have less relevance than you would like to imagine. As they say "birds of a feather flock together"

Based on my limited interaction with you in 2 months - I have found that you don't like it when people bash RM. On the other hand, you love to bash TD .... If you are good enough to advise others or give certificates - you would have learned to either accept other people's criticism of RM (like I love RM but don't attack people who don't like him and objectively I have rated TD's films higher than some of RM's films) or not criticize TD or his films unnecessarily

As far as I see, you are still learning ;)

Anyways, I feel I have "wasted" enough time on this already .... This post was to explain to you that while you tried to compare 2 months with 6, people can actually put the value of your "experience" which you probably believe is extensive (because you rate a mere 4 months more as significant) in to question and thus irrelevant :)

    I really think you need to show a little more respect - then I'm sure you will get it back...keep the attitude and I'm sure you'll get that back too...so let's try and get along -{

Let's keep on topic and anything else to PM's

I found Waltz to be an excellent Blofeld---the veneer of gracious host suits him well. If he returns, hopefully he will be written better...and I can envision an arc of sorts for him.

This is a spot-on description of how Waltz plays the role, which I quite like in a way because it seems to fit more with the spy world as it forces Bond to play more of a game and makes the villain more 'invisible'. Hopefully they'll put Blofeld's Freudian complexes away and just focus on him playing a good villain.

On the subject of Craig. ;)

He'll be back for Bond 25, and ( only my opinion) Bond 26. Waltz will also return, a little more
Unhinged in his portrayal, and the lottery numbers for this weekend are 5, 23, ................ :)

I really doubt he'll do Bond 26; that's six years away, he'd be over 50 and would have been in the role for 15 years so would likely want to move on (and I bet lots of work will have been opened up to him- can imagine him doing some flashy TV series). Even if looks-wise he could get away with it, I think he was playing Bond as approaching mid-forties in Skyfall so he will have to keep suspending the character at that age, which would be at odds with the character growing and developing. If they can think of a big enough Blofeld plot for Bond 25, I can see them keeping him on (one thing to consider is that the backstory of Blofeld kind of forces Bond to not be dissimilar in age if we're to see them as rival brothers) but his character and the films are so far removed from the pared-back 'modern' Bond of CR and QoS that it feels like it would split Craig's tenure into two.

It really all comes down to whether they have a successor waiting in the wings; if they really don't see another natural successor, they might as well hang on to him rather than shoehorn somebody in, but I think that this is the first time where I've felt that there is a chance he could leave after this or the next one.

Trigger Mortis with some changes can work well as the next Bond both for DC or a new Bond. In case of DC, Swann can replace Pussy, and Sin can be made to work for SPECTRE tasked to make Blofeld escape. Once Blofeld is released, he could take over the operations of bombing one the major cities in Europe (or something like that) .... So Bond's task would be to not only get Blofeld, but also stop the mayhem

As I said in one of my posts, this time I want a great Bond film not an another Bond film, and I am prepared to wait for it. Last 9/10 films for me were OP and TLD. Since then the films have ranged in the 7 to 8 range (highly enjoyable but lacking something magical). I want the next one to touch 9 or may even 10 B-)

:)) As if Eon will ever or ever has started with a new Bond Film saying " we're gonna make something enjoyable but It does not neccecerially have to be magical " :))

^All that is supposed to be "understood" ;) .... Some of the factors that make a film magical are planning, special effort and commitment. Take TND for e.g. if I am not wrong the script was constantly being written or re-written while the film was being shot. And we can see the end result, i.e. that it is a very enjoyable Bond but not that magical (though every Bond film seems to have a bunch of followers. For TND, the numbers would be low)

On the other hand, films such as GF, OHMSS, LALD, TSWLM, OP, TLD, etc. you can feel that a special effort was made and they turned out well too. In the latest SP, you can see that they have made the effort but unfortunately various ingredients (score for example) do not add up perfectly like they would have liked so yeah at times, it could be a miss, even if there is an effort

Leaving you with a quote about OHMSS:

" Hunt was focused on putting his mark – "I wanted it to be different than any other Bond film would be. It was my film, not anyone else's."

"and Hunt was reported to always enter the set carrying an annotated copy of the novel"

    To Hunt's dedication {[]

While I agree on your comments on OHMSS , let me say that imo SF is highly overrated and that has nothing to do with the music 8-)

I fail to see the magic in it.

And let me add that it took around 2 decades that the majority of Bond Fans see OHMSS like they do today.

    Aww :)

I reckon they will pick somebody who is known for a particular television series. Any candidates in Game of Thrones?

I highly doubt Daniel would do more than 5, but unless Bond 25 is a disaster, I'd love to see him in more. He would be Bond for a very long time, I'd enjoy seeing how his appearance and his character progresses as he gets older!

I am coming to believe that five is too many for any actor in the role, particularly as they now take soooo long to get to the screen. Maintaining commitment and credibility over such a long stretch is a tall order. Maybe three is the ideal. This would mean that Bond could permanently be of indeterminate 30s to 40s during his tenure. The series has boxed itself in a bit as another reboot would be risky.

NO! If they could produce the following films both it two years I'd beg him to do six. But I guess six more years will be too much. So I'd love to see him to do six, but I think it wil be five, but he does have two fine movies, Qos and SF and two greater ones, CR and SP!
