Inception: OHMSS, but also...

It's well known that OHMSS is Christopher Nolan's favourite Bond movie, and he himself said he pays homage to it in the snow scenes in Inception.
But I also think the Japan castle by the sea scenes might be a reference to YOLT, the novel. Actually I just re-read it for the first time in years and Fleming's description is very close to the Inception movie. If someone could really pull off a proper YOLT adaptation, with the Garden of Death, and Blofeld-Shatterhand, I think Nolan could be the man.

    Sure in the Japanese guys castle, could be a coincidence
    But Nolan does like his Bond films. ;)

    I had never made the connection myself, but watching the movie having read the novel it inmediately clicked. Japanese castle by the sea...

    The Garden of death would be awesome with CGI. In YOLT 1967 they only did the piranha tank. Very disappointing.

    If Nolan did " Borrow" a few ideas, there's no better person to
    " borrow" from than Fleming ! :D

    Nolan borrowed some other ideas from movies. Joker has a blade in his shoe in TDK He must shop at the same place Rosa Klebb shops.
