One question, slightly off topic - maybe in a few months I will be able financialy to buy a pair of TF sunglasses, if you had a choice between the FT0108 (I know the price is absurd...), the FT0144 and FT0237, which one would you buy first? ?:)
Going to go against the grain here. Have loads of sunglasses (anyone in the market let me know I have numerous styles / makes I'm more than willing to off load!); Persol - nice quality but too heavy IMO; RayBan - meh... everyone wears them; Oakley - OK for work use as beater sunnys; Gatorz - heard of them? Nice, but it's a skydiving thing.
So I have TF108 for posh wear and actually have TF William as my day-to-day sunglasses and other than having to tighten the screws every now and then when they get loose, they are pretty comfortable and hardwearing enough for me as a fashion sunglasses.
IMO the TF108 are most most iconic Bond sunglasses, if not one of the most iconic pieces of Bond clothing overall and one day (give it 50 years of so!) might aspire to the status the SMcQ Persol 714's have achieved.
I have had in my procession the TF108, TF144 Marko, and the TF207 William. I find the TF108 to be just a bit too small for my face, as is the Marko. So they have both been sold. I like the William as at a glance it can pass for the TF108, but it is abit bigger. So it fits perfectly for me. However they are definitely special occasion sunglasses when I need to "suit up". Quality-wise I have had no issues with them at all.
As for Persol, I still wear my 2244s. As Skippy said they are heavy though. and I find that the nose pads were insufficient in holding them up on my face on a hot day. I've tried both the 649s and 714s, but they never quite fit well on me.
Anybody else have quality issues with their Markos ? Over time both nose pads popped off and eventually a lens.. I have a pair of $20 AO military aviators that have withstood 3 years of wear at work... bombproof... but those danged Markos were delicate...
Exactly the same problem here. I loved the look, loved the way they felt, but lost one nose pad and the screw in one side of the frame sheered in half causing the lens to fall out. Because the tiny screw was severed, no one could retrieve it so the best repair job offered was to solder/epoxy the frame together with the lens in place. The fix worked, but I rarely wear them for fear that they'll pop open again and be unwearable. I contemplated buying a replacement pair but figured it would likely happen again and therefore didn't bother. I contacted Tom Ford but received nothing in reply.
This is the response I got from TF:

"Why should I need more time? Jobs done. The bitch is dead."
I have sent several emails to Matchless, asking more information about their SPECTRE Morocco leather jacket. They just do not reply back. Same with Tom Ford; I sent several emails and no respons at all! Very frustration, especially for a potential buyer of their products.
Are there more Bond fans who sent emails to Matchless and never received any aswer from them? Also, if you received a reply from Matchless, I would be happy to know more info about the leather jacket.

no, I think they all are going the mystery tour until it's release
"You see Mr.Bond, you can't kill my dreams...but my dreams can kill you.Time to face destiny" - "Time to face gravity"
That can be but why does a company like Matchless or Tom Ford do not have the decency to give a respons; with or without information. Not replying at all is just not decent to treat a costumer in my opinion.
Ghost London is a great example about good communcation to people who send an email for information; a friendly, good and fast respons. Tom Ford and Matchless; please learn from a company like Ghost London and do the same. It gives you a better image!

Just wanted to share. With more than a little bit of luck, a pair of sanders chukkas showed up on Jcrew's sale site so I grabbed them at a great discount ($167). I'm testing them out today.
I initially thought the large crepe sole would look odd. I was wrong. The chukkas are comfortable right out of the box and look great.

Are they they the chocolate suede or the SA snuff suede?

I am not entirely sure because Jcrew did not specify the color. They definitely appear slightly darker in the photo than in person.
Yes, the jacket in the esquire pics is not the JV one...it is the one that you see Craig wearing around town in his personal life...makes the other pieces esquire mentioned suspect...
Bit behind on threads with travelling....
Did anybody ID the esquire jacket?
I know its not THE JV jacket but is it still a JV jacket?

Hi, I have looked into it and I am pretty sure it's the knitted zip through jacket retailing for £165, popping into JV in London on Tuesday as they are holding me one.
Thanks to all you guys for the sunglasses advice! Well I might start saving money for the FT0108 then if a decent pair pops up on ebay in the right colour. -{ (problaby in half a year anyway)

The Zara in my neck of the backwoods did not have the jacket. I tried on another style blue suede jacket and the fit did not work for me. The slim fit size large is too constricting along the back shoulders. I couldn't lift my arms. The XL was too long, and being 6'4" that is saying something. I'm glad I got the JV.
I stopped in at Nordstrom and tried on the Snowdens. They fit me very well and looked great. Dammit, now I want a pair. The shiny black looks much nicer than the Havana. The salesman said something like it will be in the new Bond film. I didn't tell him that this exact one was in the film. Now to find a pair at a good price. $390 retail is much too high for what they are.

Have a look at this image of DC wearing the same top at JFK airport from the Esquire shoot...
The JV Zip-Through Knit Jacket is close - and very nice (although a bit expensive for a cotton top!) - but not quite the right jacket as it has a second zip on the edge of the 'storm flap', which doesn't appear on the Esquire / Airport top. The collar / top of the zip design is also different.
That said the zip pull in the JFK airport pic looks like its a JV zipper, so perhaps the one DC is wearing is from a previous season?
Nick - when you go into the London store ask for a guy called Paul who was super helpful when I visited and ask if there was a similar one of these from a previous season. That Zip-Through cotton jacket matches a current FW2015 season suede JV jacket - the Double Zip Racer Jacket - which makes me wonder if that Esquire / Airport jacket wasn't JV's cotton take on the SPECTRE Suede Racer Jacket when is was originally offered in an earlier season by JV (SS2015 ??). If that were the case, that might also account for the confusing info printed in Esquire.
If DC owns JV jackets in his personal life, I wonder if he recommended the brand to the costume designer, like he did the Billy Reid peacoat in Skyfall.

Google reseller ratings seemed legit, and PayPal is an option for payment if that's preferred. Crossing my fingers I don't get that dreaded "Out of stock" email. )
