    Do people really believe there will be a limit to 700? As per Billy Reid peacoat they will make it permanent part of collection if the demand is there. I don't believe a word when they say limited!! Money talks!

    Also 700 is actually quite a large number for an expensive jacket, which can be quite easily identified. Anyone else worried that they will bump into a few other blokes all wearing the same jacket? It's a bit more obvious than say the JV or BR etc.

    From experience with Belstaff they limited previous runs of film jackets so they may well limited the run to the 700 then just say tough.

    I bought Belstaff Stannard and was told it was limited and only a small number produced and lo and behold because it sold out they have started producing more and more. At the end of the day its all business and if there is a high demand they won't stop making them. "Limited" can be widely interpreted as in it could be limited to sale for only the next 50 years! :)

    You're getting your Belstaffs mixed up. Pre 2012 it was owned by the now owners of Matchless. Post 2012 it is owned by Prada wannabes who would sell their own mother to gain market share in luxury goods.

    You've forgotten OHMSS.

    I didn't mention OHMSS because I thought that branding was not visible.

    It's harder to see, but it's there.

    That's small, medium and large sold out again. It's pricing seems to vary a lot. It's €859 in Europe £869 in UK and about 1399 dollars I think in USA

    Wow! Another batch of jackets in S-L are now gone. I was fast asleep (and still should be) as it's only 5:30am here in California. By chance, I woke up to check the site and managed to snag the last Small. I was after a Medium (and still think I need a M :# ), so if anyone grabbed a Medium and may need a Small, please keep me in mind. Or if someone happened to grab an extra Medium, please let me know. We'll see how these fit as they start shipping in the next few days, hopefully.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

    Know Paul directed everyone to a previous post of mine... But in prep I went in and tried a few various styles for sizing.

    They were very consistent in truth, so providing they havent gone off piste, and the guy I spoke to confirmed they stick to their sizing guides...,

    A large was a great fit (slim / snug) with good sleeve length... The XL was too big and the M too small.

    For ref im 6 ft, 41 chest. 34 waist and 33 leg, and like to think athletically built 8-) . Im a L in JV, L in the Barbour, M in the Menlo, L or M in the BR dep what fit i wanted...

    Ive got a L today and bagged a XL yest just in case.

    My UK guide would be
    M = 40
    L = 42
    XL = 44

    Hope that helps

    M

    Oh well, looks like I'm now going have either a medium, or large spare - depending on which size fits best.
  • PPKPPK Posts: 60MI6 Agent
    i should have medium spare (if small is not so much smaller than it should be :)) )

    The international pricing of the Matchless is all over the place. US$1390 but CA$1295, which is actually US$976 or GBP633. The US cost doesn't take off the VAT while Canadian takes off 24%.

    Medium now gone again.

    Matchless drip feeding these on to the website, seems a bit silly, tbh.

    Did Rebenton get one in the end?

    He's the only one I can think of who was denied one and has not been back on

    Sure Ryan will be on it ! Most have multi sized, maybe a thread of those needing one could be an idea. Then allocated via posts ???

    I expect to have a XL up for grabs. And would much happier get it to a member than return it... With no profit obviously

    I should note that I am not a collector per se. I only buy Bond related items that appeal to me strongly and suit my personal style. And I keep thinking that, instead of this fairly nondescript jacket, I could spend the same amount on all those fantastic N.Peal SPECTRE sweaters with some money left over for a great pair of C&Js. That said, it's hard not to pull the trigger. There's so much excitement around snagging one of these today. I just hate feeling like Matchless is playing me to spend way too much on a jacket that might not even be prominently featured in a movie I haven't seen. Is anyone else struggling with this predicament?

    True but maybe a jacket is better then a jumper (thinking of the pull and bobbles on my TF Cardigan lol)

    I'm kind of in this predicament. I'm not totally enamored with the jacket, especially at that price point, but I love the Bond connection. I was able to get the Varvatos jacket (on sale), and both N Peal jumpers (mock neck and rollover) for the less than I would now pay for just this jacket. Like you said, it's hard not to pull the trigger, and I have the checkout page ready to go in case I decide to do it. :))
