I should note that I am not a collector per se. I only buy Bond related items that appeal to me strongly and suit my personal style. And I keep thinking that, instead of this fairly nondescript jacket, I could spend the same amount on all those fantastic N.Peal SPECTRE sweaters with some money left over for a great pair of C&Js. That said, it's hard not to pull the trigger. There's so much excitement around snagging one of these today. I just hate feeling like Matchless is playing me to spend way too much on a jacket that might not even be prominently featured in a movie I haven't seen. Is anyone else struggling with this predicament?

True but maybe a jacket is better then a jumper (thinking of the pull and bobbles on my TF Cardigan lol)

Good point! Maybe I am just wishing that this jacket appealed to me more. I love my Barbour and Billy Reid and was fortunate to score a JV at less than half the price of the Matchless.

On another note, it will be interesting to see what Bond look becomes iconic in SPECTRE. The Scotland outfit in Skyfall really ended up defining that movie in so many ways. At the moment I am thinking that, when we picture 007 in SPECTRE, it will be in one of the winter outfits. Just a hunch, based on the trailers.

I think it will be the Solden and JV

I'm doing my best to avoid the frenzy for now. I just can't justify over US$1400 for a nondescript suede jacket with an ugly logo on the bicep. (Looks like a beetle is stuck to the sleeve.) I'm not disparaging anyone who likes the jacket, I like aspects of it, but not for $1400. $400-500, sure.

Having the JV jacket makes me want the Matchless less, if that makes any sense. Just too similar a style for the extra thousand dollars.

Before seeing the film, it's hard to know what items of wardrobe might become iconic. Sometimes the item itself just stands out and the first time you see it you just love it, and sometimes it's as much about the context of the item in the film as it is about the item itself. It will be interesting to see what emerges top of the list from Spectre.

Interesting tho, for me and I am unique, madagascar outfit CR, bolivia arrival (but a 6k TF suit is out of my newly restricted budget) and Mathis villa in QoS, Shanghai in SF and havent a clue re Spectre, so far hope it turns out to be JV or Matchless :))

But then I also lovr miami airport, venice, le paz, desert, scotland etc etc
    Skewered, one sympathises...

    1. CR. 2. TSWLM. 3. LTK. 4. GF. 5. SF.

Not yet. I'm currently at work and trying to get to the site as much as possible.

I would guess that the most iconic outfits in Spectre based off of publicity might be the Ivory dinner jacket, teaser poster look, Mexico city Skull costume and possibly the Rome black suit.

Yep, I'm with WD on this. Had a Medium on their website in the cart but didn't pull the trigger because I'm not impressed with the price point of these and don't like the sleeve and zipper branding. If it had been another JV jacket I would have probably got it regardless of the price though, as I'm impressed with their stuff.

The JV blue jacket would be the pick for me if it was a choice of the two, but then I really like the zipped sleeves feature.

What I am slightly kicking myself about is the Montcler jacket someone helpfully put up today and I had in a basket, but procrastinated! 8-)

Yes, far too much money really and I hated seeing the way they messed forum users about the other day not listing it on their website. I really hate supporting companies who treat their customers this way...Ultimately though, my fanaticism for Bond won out and I figured I'd go for it before it sells out. If I feel too strongly over the next fortnight I could go for a refund then...

Did you go for the express delivery option? I just plumped for the free option - figured I'd paid enough already! If so then maybe give them a call, otherwise sit tight in my opinion...

Yeah mine has not shipped from yesterday either - however I took the cheapskate (free delivery) option :)

Im guessing Mantis paid for the faster delivery hence the shipping confirmation

So does anyone know what the black insignia is on the one sleeve? Presumably a Matchless label but from the angle on the website it looks like a Transformers Decepticon symbol!

Also just to be clear, the 700 limit is for the entire size range, not a case of 700 per size?

That's the matchless badge. Hard to tell at the moment if it's brass like normal or a special black one.

I ordered yesterday as well and am yet to receive a shipping statement. I did receive an email saying it would ship "today or tomorrow". Also, free shipping was my only option.
