They always are on matchless, that's why I like them. Maybe I might like this jacket after all when mine arrives, thankfully got mine through a source and not retail price
I got XL and I'd say it fits me a bit better than the JV which is also XL.
first impressions: it's very light, the suede feels the JV but it is a great jacket true to size
When you say it fits better do you mean slightly "bigger / more room" "smaller / more fitted" etc
I have a JV XL which fits prob just right and snug so interested to hear the difference!!!
Iaround the belly it is a bit smaller (fitted) and it doesn't run so long downwards the waist so overall I think compared to the JV it is a bit more fitted

hmmmmm....what are your measurements if I may ask...I agree with those saying the jacket looks quite big on you unzipped...slightly big on you zipped...just trying to figure out if its the cut or the size you received on your measurement type...and BTW, not critizing if this is how you like things to fit...not everyone likes the fitted look....
I have just taken delivery of a Medium and a Large.
Sizes:
Medium:
Shoulder to shoulder 19.5"/49.5cm
Back: 25"/63.5cm
Arm: 25'/63.5cm
Armpit to armpit: 21"/53cm
Large:
Shoulder to shoulder:20"/51cm
Back: 25.5"/65cm
Arm: 25.5"/65cm
Armpit to armpit: 22"/56cm
Pics of Medium:
Pics of the Large:
And here is a close-up pic of the logo on the arm. Not nearly as offensive as I first thought:
For the record, I am a Medium in the John Varvatos.
Overall I'm pleased with the jacket. As previously mentioned, it is very light, like the JV, and of a similar suede- possibly goat skin. If you were a Medium in the JV, and like a more fitted feel, then go for a Medium. But the Large wouldn't look enormous on you, and some may prefer the slightly looser fit.
In the limited pics we've seen of DC wearing this jacket, it's worn open and on that basis, the medium looks a better overall fit on you - but as you say, depends how one likes the fit of their jackets.
no, as far as I'm concerned they're not numbered (would'he been a nice idea though)
XL- measurements are:
•shoulder: 52cm
•back:71cm
•arm:65cm
•armpit:52cm
I got an XL because jackets in L always are too tight around the shoulders and upper back.besides I don't like the skin tight feeling of clothes.
and to be fair, in the pics I'm holding my arms out so that one sees the complete jacket.

Pit to Pit seam to seam is around 20.5" however when laid flat there is material on either side of each seam (if that makes sense at all lol) giving it a actual material measurement of around 23" (if it was 20.5" I would be stuffed)
That's correct - pit to pit you measure at widest point under the arms regardless of where the seams are. Your chest won't take notice of any seams and their alignment changes from jacket to jacket.

Thanks for clearing that up - thats how I always measure!!

Yeah me too!! Sleeves look pretty long though on this jacket

Would you say it is only slimmer around the middle than your JV.. Or slimmer in the chest too?
How tall are you? The sleeves look very long.

I reckon those sleeves need to be 2-3" shorter, though.
I'll check later.
the sleeves just look like being to long but they don't feel like it when worn.I'm 5ft 9 (1,72m)

Small and Medium already sold out.
The numbering would have been a great idea if they really are to be Limited to 700 units. That is to say no production re-runs (a la Barbour).

You made me sweat there lol (though I do have a XXL to be on the safe side)
