Great pics Blair. Definitely the M for you. Based on your measurements it seems similar to the JV in general size.
The lining looks better in the close up pictures, and the details in the stitching are unique and very nice. What is the color to the eye? Is the picture on the Matchless site accurate? In direct sunlight it still looks like fleece.
I can't see wearing a suede jacket in Morocco, but then I'd think the Harrington in QoS would be too hot for the Bolivian desert.
The jacket is definitely lighter than the Matchless website photos, and is very close to the "fleece" pics. But it does look far classier in the flesh than a fleece would do. But I expect it will be a bugger to keep clean .
Is it my imagination or does the Craig blouson look longer than then one on Daniel Craig on set. I expect it is. Again the back looks nice - something about that seam and I usually hate seams on the back !
It must be your imagination {[]
no, seriously I think when I wear mine the lengths are the same.

Meesta bond thanks for the revised measurements..... I've been deliberating about ordering an XL as a back up but thanks to the detailed info you've supplied I'm confident the large will fit.
Sorry a little confused so are they actually numbered or not
Ross
It would appear they are not....sigh
They said a couple of days ago they would, I even contacted and asked if I could have a specific number and was told they would try to do that for me.

Going by the photos only the Varvatos jacket does look superior and is a much better colour. Isn't it considerably cheaper as well?
The JV retails for US$798. The Craig Blouson (sounds like a male model from Zoolander) could be up to $550 more depending on your location. Possible customs fees would jack that up even more.
The Matchless would be a dirt magnet, I'd think. I had a Billy Reid jacket that color. One errant ball point pen and it was ruined the first day I had it.
The lining of the Matchless is quite plain, isn't it? The JV interior is a bit more fashion-y, but I like it more.
Customs fees are $100 for folks in the US.. I just paid mine..I recommend calling UPS and prepaying the fee so that you don't have to worry about that issue. Here is the number 18664937140
Yikes! Looks like U.S. buyers are getting shafted the most. That puts my jacket at over $1500, equivalent to about £980.
Matt, were you asked to pay the customs fees upon delivery? I haven't heard of that from UPS before. Typically I get an invoice about a month or so down the road with the amount to pay.

Usually UPS will require that I pay before they will release the package, Fed-ex will send invoices through the mail. I had a problem with UPS demanding a cashiers check or something ridiculous like that a while back when I went to pick up a package at their hub in Phoenix ( package also came from Italy) . I ended up calling UPS and that's how I found out about pre-paying for the package over the phone. In this case I haven't received my jacket yet (due tomorrow) but it says on the tracking "burr needs to pay custom duties" so I think it's the same story as - need to pay before they release the package.

I can't figure out why the Canadian base price is so much less than the US. It's like Matchless forgot to remove the VAT. So 3-4 times that of the JV clearance prices. Ouch.

Ps, tell UPS to e- mail you the invoice showing that you paid. There is a couple of hours lag-time between when you pay and when it shows up as paid in your e-mail so no need to be concerned of you haven't received the confirmation right away.

I paid at 6 am and got the confirmation at 11:00 am.
Thanks for that, Matt! Good advice for those of us in the States that don't want to have any hold-up receiving their jackets. I just checked my tracking details and spotted this line "The receiver must pay the duties or taxes due on the package." So I'll give them a call this afternoon.
I certainly hoped that was the case, but looks to be otherwise. I have a feeling the various country zones on the Matchless site only bring up the prices in your local currency, nothing more. Payment seems to be processed in Euros (at least with credit cards - then billed in your local currency obviously), and shipment is all happening from Italy.
I just called the 866-493-7140 number that Matt B. posted and spoke to the rep in the UPS Brokerage/Billing department. Paid my $100.42 fee per jacket, and now they'll be delivered as scheduled. For other U.S. buyers, definitely take care of this or your package will not be delivered as scheduled. If you're home at the time of delivery, they will take a check or money order; but if you're not home, as is my case, they won't be leaving the jacket at your doorstep.

You bet! Is yours coming tomorrow? Mine says by Friday end of day and it is now in Kentucky at last update. Should be in Phoenix tonight and out on the truck for delivery tomorrow.

And any Spectre references, even if only on the detachable labels?

No!
Have you checked inside the pockets (extremely unlikely!)

It is really rather classy. And was beside the pocket....Made of leather, and really nicely embossed. 29/700....
