The closest I have seen to the Mr.White jacket is a WooYoungMi jacket

    http://www.matchesfashion.com/products/1020850

Selfridges sell this also. This doesn't have the zip sleeves but, interestingly, they do a jacket with the zipped sleeves.

There is a 38 of the Rick Owens on Ebay at the moment (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rick-owens-IT48-blistered-lambs-leather-zip-up-jacket-/281807366793)

Boxaw , that is an excellent find!! If it had the zipper cuffs , I'd be inclined to say that it was THE jacket!

Obviously without the fur collar of course :))

    We could be closing in on the white jacket perhaps -{

Mmmmm... I think mine is closer, colour and style with large zippers, just that blasted collar detail is not right. I still have my money on Neil Barrett. His style is the closest.

Seriously not impressed with matchless as I have been charged in Euros making each jacket bought £878.97 and then a further £25.92 non stirling or non £ transaction fee.
So as if the jackets ain't expensive enough I've had to pay a further £35 for each jacket

Was the Neil Barrett this one:
    http://www.farfetch.com/uk/shopping/men/Neil-Barrett-zipped-harrington-jacket-item-10928947.aspx?origin=product-search&bfdqbt=%7Bkeyword%7D&source=%7Bifpla:pla%7D%7Bifpe:pe%7D

I think the thing about Barrett is that he doesn't do a lot of offset zip 'stuff' (unless it's a diagonal). For me, that's a bigger tell than the zipped sleeves. With the detachable shearling collar, I think this jacket is almost exact (offset zip with buttons behind).

One interesting small point is that Varvatos has recently launched a pea coat with a zip sleeve. I wonder whether they have something that was used that hasn't been launched yet. However, most likely, I suspect this is a last season coat that even once someone finds it will be very difficult to source.

As posted before, this appears to be the closest I found and it was a few seasons ago

I had a look at the HB version when it was on sale, not sure I can live with the metal badge on the back of the collar? Just my thoughts.

    +1

Nice jacket but the badge on the neck put me off a little

Hang on, can they get away with that? I presume you both paid via the UK site - the total agreed price at checkout being £869, so surely they can't charge in euros and you cop the additional charges?!?!

Agreed... I don't care for any kind of exposed logo on clothing period... Although it is at least a bit more subtle than the "hey look at me" Matchless badge... Still think they goofed by not making the jacket 100% screen accurate and leaving that off... Shame really..

Like it very nice jacket and in my opinion a nicer colour than the matchless jacketr but I the fit is probably not as good as it is a regular fit rather than fitted like the matchless.

I have noticed with paypal that even though I have a EUR balance from previous payments made to me if I buy something in EUR they still take my payment in GBP and then charge me for converting to EUR so I no longer use Paypal to make payments as it ends up costing more, effectively a double charge if you are already using a credit card. I am sure that Paypal never used to do this but they are now becoming more like a bank.

I was charged in Pounds with my Matchless via Paypal - exactly £869 the correct price. So I am ok

Judging by the experience Ross has, it appears if you pay with a Credit Card, despite paying in pounds on the UK site, its processed in EUROS without telling you. That is pretty shady in my opinion.

Was it a one off mistake / accident? e.g. is Ross the only UK buyer charged in EUROS? Maybe other UK guys can check their Credit Card statements.

The neck badge on the HB is disconcerting, not just from the look, but whether it chafes the back of the neck when wearing the jacket zipped. This was a reason I didn't get the jacket at £230 shipped when I had the chance. As for the Matchless, I think the branded zipper pulls would have been enough. Most people would have been fine with it and those who wanted the 100% SA look could have removed them.

I hope to see more of Globetrotter in Spectre, looks like maybe a brown one?

Yes but was that made clear at the point of sale? I must confess not having read the fine print, but this strikes me as levying a hidden charge.

Just checked my invoice - 1200 or so euros charged, equating to £890! As if costing £869 was not enough! Then on top no doubt I'll have the credit card charge to convert to euros too...

Matchless LONDON will be getting an e-mail from me - not happy.

That is bang out of order....they should be disclosing prior to point of sale.

For me, ordering from the US, I had to complete a credit verification step of sorts. I had to receive a 6-digit code via text or email and then enter this code into the billing page before my order could be processed. It was on this page of the checkout that I noted I was actually being charged in Euros not Dollars. It was clear but in the end, the amount should have equated to the $1390 price quoted on the Matchless site.

What's the point of having different web pages for various countries if the prices in your local currency aren't even accurate. There's no difference in stock availability either - it's the same pool of jackets available. It's frustrating but what are you going to do? It's not like we have other options for buying this jacket. It may best serve those who waited to buy the jacket to purchase it from another retailer when it becomes available, one that covers customs and actually bills in your local currency.

I can't recall seeing anything - regardless of the fine print though, surely if the total agreed was shown as one clearly expressed sum, they cannot then go and effectively hike the price up...

E-mail sent to Matchless - I'll keep you posted...
