I was actually surprised how big the boxes were!!!

Unfortunately I have had a number of issues with matchless so will be adding a review soon.

I received my Matchless jackets late on Friday evening. I ordered a size Small and then was able to grab a Medium when new stock was added. Here are comparison pics of the Small (#24/700) and Medium (#16/700) side by side (apologies for the poor quality iPhone pics as my DSLR is out of commission at the moment) -

    Matchless%20Compare%201r.jpg

    Matchless%20Compare%202r.jpg

    Matchless%20Compare%203r1.jpg

And here are some measurements to go along with the pics -

    -Size Small-
    Pit-to-Pit: 20"
    Sleeve Length: 25"
    Width across bottom: 18.5"
Back Length (from seam at collar): 24.5"
    Shoulder-to-Shoulder (across back): 18"

    -Size Medium-
    Pit-to-Pit: 21"
    Sleeve Length: 25"
    Width across bottom: 19.5"
Back Length (from seam at collar): 25"
    Shoulder-to-Shoulder (across back): 18.5"

I've opted to keep the Medium. While there is a bit more room through the body and at the waist, the shoulders and chest are just right. The Small was just a tad snug in the chest and upper arms. I plan on keeping this jacket for many years, so I want to have the flexibility of going up a size or so, and still have enough room in the jacket. I hope this info is helpful for those awaiting theirs.

    Kind regards,
    Craig

    Pics aren't too shabby - I agree that the medium looks best on you -{

Received my Matchless Craig Blouson also today: Size Large

Unfortunately one size too small. These jackets are (in true Italian style) very fitted.

If anyone is interested in a Large you can PM me. Otherwise this one will be returned at the end of the week for an XL

My xl and l arrived too

Only had brief try on. Large is a perfect snug fit, xl gives room / slightly looser relaxed fit. Both great length. Would like to see SA fit before returning one.... Damn

Fell free to post some fit pictures. Care to give the dimensions of the two jackets. With Craig's post that will give us the dimensios of s-xl. It may help those who can't float the price of two.

Got my Craig Blouson today - am I the only person massively underwhelmed by the jacket??

Perhaps given the price point I was expecting something wonderful but I'm seriously considering returning this.

I've read the forum reviews about this being extremely lightweight but when I tried it on it felt incredibly fragile, perhaps too fragile to wear out and about. Also the colour, definitely more cream than the caramel colour on the website - I can imagine the slightest bit of dirt being highly noticeable.

I was also less than impressed with the stamping on the badge, the serial number being barely discernible - possibly 120 something out of 700.

All in all, never worth almost £900...just wrestling with my 007 OCD as to whether to get a refund now...

Received my Medium and Large Matchless blousons today. Here are some pics.

Although I'm a M in the JV, I'm leaning towards the Large for the longer sleeve length and also a bit more give in the chest. What do you guys think?

Also in the one pic from the front of Bond walking up some steps in the blouson, it looks like a more relaxed fit...or maybe it's just me.

Cheers everyone, much appreciated. You've helped me make up my mind! Agree, the medium looks too snug when zipped up.

Anyway I'll take a a couple of days to make sure I'm happy with the Large.

But it does mean for any interested member in the UK, I will likely have a Medium which I'm happy to sell on at cost + postage. If not I will return it to Matchless.

OK chaps, here are my medium and large for comment.
Medium #44 (I wonder if I can sell this to Lewis Hamilton? :v )
    Large #121

I'm about 6'2", 40" chest, 33.5" waist. So slim for my height.
I actually think the jacket is pretty nice in the flesh, definitely better than in pictures, but yes, quite expensive for what it is.
I've got the usual dilemma, in that I can get away with both sizes, but a perfect fit would be right between the two!
There's not a vast difference, medium is definitely more fitted. Fine if wearing just with a polo, but you wouldn't be able to layer underneath - but then would one wear this jacket in winter??
Zipped it's a little tight on the chest.
Large is a more comfortable fit and would allow layering, but not quite as good fit on the shoulders and back.
Sleeve length for me is fine with both, perhaps the large being a little better.

It's difficult to tell how fitted DC's jacket is, but as he's wearing it open and the fit on the shoulders/back looks good, I'd say it would be pretty fitted if zipped. My physique is nothing like his, anyway! :))

I agree the medium looks great, but I enjoy a closer fit in general. The sleeves on the large, however, are perfect in my opinion, while the sleeves on the medium are a bit short. But, even sleeve length is a personal style choice. These jackets seem to be hard to find a perfect fit for people. Probably best to think about long term use and alteration potential when making a pick.

Definitely keep the medium mate. The Large, whilst abit more comfortable now, looks sloppy.
  • Westward_DriftWestward_Drift Posts: 3,113MI6 Agent
Holden, the medium looks best just standing there, but how does it move? Do the arms ride up when you lift them. How constricting are the shoulders?

I personally like a slightly looser fit, but it's all a mater of personal preference. While I could wear the medium in the Royale Harrington, the looser fit of the large was just more comfortable and the slightly longer arms were a better fit.
