I have been in contact with her, but she hasn't responded yet. She may have been flooded with requests, or possibly waiting till after the US premiere. Anyway, keep everything crossed she gets back to one of us...
On another note, has anyone identified the black/dark green sleeveless top that Lea Seydoux wears when she is talking to Bond on the train and he is wearing the pale blue linen shirt/Matchless combo? Can't find a photo to show you yet.
I've been wearing it with shirts alone or shirt+waistcoat. It's a very light jacket so it's probably already too cold to wear it here in the UK (not to mention that it's too rainy to wear suede). I'm not a huge fan of turtle-necks in general and, in my opinion, this jacket is a light blouson to wear in spring/summer rather than something to pair with a warm sweater.
Human sizes already sold out, I think there are some XL's left though if you've been hitting the weights!
All now sold out online. That was very quick. I wonder if the US stores will have any for those who want one.
Yes, my understanding from a few months ago is they will. I pre-ordered one but now I'm not sure it's worth $800 since the Matchless is such an amazing jacket and two suede jackets even for a Bond item might be overkill ( yes pun intended) . What do those who own it think, do you recommend it and do you only wear it with the N.Peal?

I don't have a mock neck of any brand at the moment. I have worn my JV with a charcoal Sunspel polo. Right now the weather is quite nice for it at night here in California. I love the Marine blue color of the JV. On colder nights, as long as it's not raining, I am considering layering it with a black JV zip through lightweight cotton bomber I just received.
I can understand your reticence with more than one suede blouson. I got the JV first and at a damn good price, so spending $1200 or more on the Matchless has little appeal. Daniel Craig may own multiple black suede bombers, but I will skip.

Thanks everyone for their feedback, it is very helpful in making decisions like this to get feedback from others who understand our passion! I think I'll pass on the J.V now, but knowing myself Inwill pay twice retail on eBay in a month when I regret not getting it

Don't forget there is the Zara for a budget alternative and Magnoli exists as an option.

Apologies if this has been repeatedly asked:
If I'm an XS in the N. Peal Skyfall sweater, what would the right fit be for the three Spectre sweaters? I'm a 46 in the TF Solden jacket if that helps triangulate things any.
Going to be in London the weekend of 11/12, but figured I'd just get your guys' advice and order while everything's in stock instead of trying at their London location next month.
The general consensus was to keep the same Skyfall sweater size for the Cable Roll Neck, but go up one size in the Mock Turtle Necks as those fit a bit slimmer. So if you're an XS in the Skyfall, then you would be an XS in the Cable Roll Neck as well, and a S in the Mocks Turtle Necks. Hope this helps!
don't forget to register your email address on the JV site for a 15% discount emailer offer, comes through pretty quick.
I've ordered mine through the JV London store and have a 15% off code from when I registered online - does anyone know if the store will accept the code?
If not I would have been better off ordering online!
I ordered at the London store too and asked the same question about whether I could apply the online discount. Not possible I was told. Nor could I apply the $100 discount voucher emailed to me around the same time. Also, I will miss out on getting the VAT off due to a perfect storm of personal logistical circumstances, despite living overseas. Ordered the Jacket anyway: you twist and turn, but in the end there's no denying the Bondian itch...
Glad I pre-ordered now judging by how quickly new stock is selling.
Its odd they removed all the branding on the matchless jacket, its not like it would've been that noticeable on screen anyway.
I'd wager that the production used jackets were produced without the branding since they were, as Skippy points out, a copy of the earlier John Varvatos split seam jacket. When it came time to produce the market version, Matchless added the branding to the sleeves and zippers while also removing the collar hooks.

It's possible Matchless didn't even make the jackets, or provide copies of them. They were only involved after to produce a licensed version of the jacket. It happened all the time with Belstaff and their licensed jackets. Belstaff put out the War of the Worlds jacket, but didn't produce it for the film.
You twist and turn like a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr McCoy....
It's subliminal - it has to be...There I was strolling casually in London barely one hour after collecting my Anthony Sinclair sharkskin grey Conduit Cut suit and I look up to discover that I'm walking down...Conduit Street! Isn't this street the home of John Varvatos's London store, muses I? And heavens, there's the very same store on the other side of the street! Must be fate, and won't hurt to check out THE jacket. Forty five minutes later, my order is placed and I step out of the store in a sort of befuddled daze, wondering what has just happened. I head off in the general direction of Carnaby Street, hoping to pick up some cheap knick-knack gifts to show for my travels when, 'lo-and-behold', I spy a Barbour store tucked away down a side street. Not a large store at all, so there's no supposing they might stock the Commander jacket in my size. Still, won't hurt to pop in and ask, thinks I. 'Oh, you DO have it, and in my size too. Mind if I try...? Hmmm...actually that looks pretty good... oh dear!
So my shopping bags are starting to mount up. I walk across the road, not really sure where I'm going now, turn right into Newburgh Street and there on the right-hand side (dammit!) is Baracuta. Wasn't it the Baracuta G4 jacket that inspired the QoS TF midnight navy Harrington jacket, recalls I? Couldn't hurt to pop in and browse...
All of which begs the question, when does Bond take the time to shop for his famously stylish wardrobe? I reckon he probably does it a bit like the rest of us - he steps out onto the street, he twists and turns, but there's no denying his Black Centurion Amex card and, before he can say, "I thought Christmas only comes once a year", there's another N.Peal cashmere sweater tucked under his arm and a new TF suit bag in his hand!
I would imagine Bond would order stuff from places he knows and trusts online while he's waiting to catch flights. Might account for why DC's Bond's clothes are sometimes a size too small )

Anyone has an idea where to find stirrup trousers like these? Because obviously I'm not going to buy a 1000 quid Tom Ford pair but it's a really good idea for a hard winter - and in Poland it might actually happen this year.

the SA has long zippers and the craig blouson has one round one
Considering the jacket was modelled on that earlier JV jacket, those look a lot like JV zippers too...

That's helpful to me, too. Thanks Craig
Hopefully they just keep restocking them )
Who can fit in the extra small?! Surely thats a 32-34" chest? Bonkers X-(
Just bought a M to check fit against my Large
Measurements for JV M are the same as my Matchless Large
Oh and the 15% discount worked too

Would make for a good 'regular' arrangement :007) Better than having to make excuses about "running out of suger..." all the time
