I've no idea what 'that' is ??? )
Any panel under 32inch cannot give a 'true' representation of a bluray image...that is the information I was given by the 'techno-wiz kids' ....I was told screens under 32 inch work better with an inter-polated image...unless you have an OLED screen...
Why am I not surprised that you don't know a Sony "Personal 3D Viewer" ?
Not sure who the "techno-wiz kids" are but they are wrong and OLEDs are just a different technology to create pixels.
Is that what that is ? )
The 'techno-wiz kids' were the top boffins at every firm that produced display screens....every last one of them said any screen under 32 inches could not 'show' bluray off...you were better off upscaling from DVD...I'll let you tell the entire industry they are wrong :v
Pixels-For-Dummies bottom line:
Better to have a little more visual info than you need on a smaller screen than not quite enough on a larger one. )
Where I used to work the giant 1080 screens didn't look as good from 6-8 feet as the smaller ones.

You need to check your feed then...and tv's in shops aren't 'tuned in' very well...you can alter the set up on most tv's when you get home to get the optimum picture quality...plus some tv's (plasmas especially) need to be run for several hundred hours as the picture quality gets better over time... -{
.... and you are calling me " to fly in the face of all reason and logic, stick determinedly to a point of view when beset from all sides, and bluff if out when cornered."
The problem with Plasma (besides of the enegry thirstiness and the poor performance in bright conditions, fan noise, panel noise etc) is that you have to play it "in" for several hundred hours and then the process of decreasing luminosity starts as the gass-filled cells are prone to aging

Apart from the "energy thirstiness" I've never had an issue with any of the others...plus the blacks are far superior - only now are the rest catching up...and most pros still prefer plasma screens
These tv's 'don't age' in the way you claim for about 30 years - unless you run them 24/7 )

The blacks are great - all mentioned flaws happen too often and these panels age much more rapidly than your mentioned 30 years 24/7 - just google it
Regarding size, I am a fan for the largest screens possible but you are still wrong with your universal statements re. size. ;%

During my lunch breaks I used to tinker with connections to see. I was needing a new one & had all the time in the world to experiment before I decided.

Our TVs were on 13 hours a day every single day. I have to say though that all the 60 inch+ screens looked fantastic from like 15 feet away. But in our living room the couch is less than 8 feet from the wall. 8-)
We have a modest sized Matsui Plasma Screen in our Flat that we purchased rather cheaply a few Years ago. It does the Job and thats all thats important -{

I checked out how long my TV would last when I bought it - it was in excess of 30 years...

I'd be lucky to see the wall from 15 feet away - let alone the TV )

LOL, yeah, I have my TV glasses, my book/portable DVD player glasses, my computer glasses, my modeling work glasses... 8-)
Drifting back to the topic:
So far I haven't noticed anything of any great worth because of BR, but do I see metal textures, reflections in glass, and labels & text on screens & stuff that is suddenly readable. The mask in the FRWL PTS looks particularly fake now... the volcano erupting in YOLT looks more like a mix & match animation than ever...
But Dalton's misty eyes somehow look less misty! ?:)
Look how pretty this BR looks on my little 26 incher...
I am not tech-savvy enough to contribute anything substantive to this discussion, but my eyes tell me that's a pretty impressive picture for a small screen tv. -{
