Honestly it's easy, just pull the waxed strip back as far as you can to expose the attached zip material..... then 'snip'.

An "after" image of your jacket, Thomo, how it should look post-surgery.
As others have mentioned, it's a simple process. Just go slowly and rewax (and relax). Good luck and have fun with it!
