Many native speakers can't follow Shakespeare, so don't worry about it. We're writing a sort of Shakespearean-lite version of Olde English, the intention being to give the impression that the scripts are coming from that time period without being totally accurate.
The biggest challenge is modifying the technology rather than the language, and it's here that we have to be inventive. No submarines, spaceships, etc, so we have lots of ships!

Next scene, Sir James arrives at a shoppe selling ? voodoo stuff... ? strange things....? (with a comment about how Felix told him to go here) and sneaks out the back to see..... (leads to him hailing a cab and going to the bar).

I added a joke to the Bond's flat scene about "Bel Canto" as I think it sounds like " Belgrano "
I know it makes no sense
