Does anyone else think this movie had the potential to be great but fell short in a few areas.
Of course it fell short in a few areas, but I love it just the same. -{
I love TMWTGG. Christopher Lee is perfect in this movie. I love the score too. It's was one of the few books I haven't read, how different is the movie version? I'm guessing very.

Yes, very! A brainwashed 007 tries to kill M at the start, the main part of the story takes place in Jamaica, there's no solar energy subplot.... etc etc.
I guess you had to be there in 1975 to really appreciate this movie fully. ?:)
Wasn't it 1974, chrisisall?
Yes of course, my bad! It was when I was 14- memory slides...
I was deep into Okinawan Kempo at the time. I remember thinking the martial arts in the flick was.... iffy... )
Here's why TMWTGG is my favourite Moore film:
There were no Road Runner deaths like Kananga, no 'destroy the world' plots, or impossible henchmen like Jaws, no parrots talking to the PM or tuk-tuk tennis fights, and no shrieking endlessly of Bond's first name. :v
Golden Gun " fetishist " perhaps ? )
Sadly for me it's a weak entry, Yes it has a superb villain and fantastic
car jump but as a whole it's not one of my favourites. Although it is
Miles better than NSNA. So it has some good points. )

I agree with all of that. However, the nadir has to be JW Pepper - again. He was a bad idea the first time 'round; why add him again?

It was filmed in the last cove in the bay.

and not the suave criminal that Christopher Lee portrayed.

The moment when Moore swallows the bullet is one of my favourite in the whole series

It has one of the best villains in the series, one of the best henchmen, a killer car stunt, 2 great bond girls, and a nice duel at the end.
I'm with you...
