The trailer looks good, its made my day. Finally the franchise has moved towards the classic again. The trailer have everything from explosions, to thrilling chases, and romance. I personally believe that wearing a white ivory tuxedo is a good options, he will needs a change after two consecutive navy blue dinner suits!

Keep in mind that the trailer's music has nothing to do with the film's OST. Bond trailers typically feature different music from the actual film, unless the music has come from a previous Bond film (which hasn't been done in some time). Contrary to what has been reported, the trailer's music was not written by Thomas Newman. People have only been assuming that Thomas Newman scored the trailer since he will be scoring the film. It doesn't sound like Thomas Newman's work (the trailer music focuses too much on themes!). See this tweet for who did the music for the trailer:
In regards to film spoilers...have any members read the novels before the films came out and if so, did it spoil the film in any way? I began reading them after seeing TB in the cinema (was too young to comprehend them before that). I read OHMSS since it was the next one coming out and it still did not keep me from enjoying the film, especially since the script was kept close to the novel.
I can't make out the name on the score, but it sure doesn't say Thomas Newman.
It looks like it's composed by Jeff Ps????? and orchestrated by Charles Ty????????
Had a look for similar names associated with the editor or director, or even with Thomas Newman (if he 'subcontracts' work out for little projects such as trails), but come back with nothing that resembles the surnames in the photo.

The twitter post said that the same composer has done the last four Bond trailers. I'm guessing these are people who do many trailers. That's why so much trailer music sounds alike.

The music for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace trailers was done by Pfeifer Bros if I'm correct. So that would mean that they composed the music for the Skyfall and Spectre traielrs also.

Thanks. So the Jeff on the top of the score must be Jeff Pfeifer.
Think we need to tread carefully with spoilers - the last 24 hours I have nearly read / heard quite a few things that I don't want to! I had to stop browsing on a few sites altogether - guess its inevitable the closer we get....
It's very difficult in today's modern world to NOT read spoilers...I read a few in some of today's papers that would anger you IF you didn't know them...I'd suggest to keeping out of the SPECTRE forum for a start )
Plus it is quite funny (in a nice way) when you see some people adding 2 and 2 and getting 5 ;%
I looked at the British papers on Thursday 23rd July for Spectre coverage. There was D.Mail,D.Express, The Sun, The Star and The Mirror. I bought The Sun as it had most variety of photos.
The Mail pointed out 3 repeat ideas-helicopter fight (FYEO0, skull faces (LALD) and carnival procession(Thunderball and Moonraker.)
Ther's also a train trip. But we know the Bond films use old ideas in a new form.

When ond is asked what he was doing in Mexico he replies " was taking a .............. Holliday." There is a word there I can't make out. Can anyone help a poor foreign boy? ?:)

In my opinion, I think this shot from the trailer is right after the intro gun barrel. (Just my two cent) 8-)
I know i am in the minority here, but i liked the gunbarrel at the end of skyfall sue me. It allowed for a more cinematic opening where Bond steps out from behind the wall with the BA-NA sound effect. That wouldn't look right after we've seen him step out from the gunbarrel and do the same thing. However, i didn't like it at the end of Quantum because the action theme music kicked in right after that bittersweet music with Bond leaving the algerian love knot in the snow. Ultimately, with Mendez directing, it fits best wherever it ends up, though

If we were in the 60s,70s, 80s, 90s and even 2002, I would agree with you. Now it could be just an establishing shot. But then again, you might be right...
I don't feel it will open up on such and establishing shot either.. Somehow I have a feeling the gunbarrel will open on one of those skulls in the parade going on there instead, maybe the mask Bond wore in the trailer or something like that....
(Hoping to quote this post in november if that's true :P )
The OHMSS inclusion was a masterstroke given this is clearly Mendes' love letter to this movie. While not a remake or really even a reimaging of OHMSS, it would take a fool (or non Bond fanatic) to not see the less than subtle homages to the film. Especially if you've read the script.
Hopefully it was a conscious decision by the kids and Mendes and the film contains the same thematic nods.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

Totally agree...it looks like CR, QoS, Skyfall and a few classic Bonds all blended together in one delicious cocktail! Can't wait -{

Bleuville.
Brilliant! Thanks. These are the guys who should be getting the credit for their use of the OHMSS theme in the trailer, not Thomas Newman.
It certainly is possible but we wouldn't know since we didn't write the script
But we do if we've read it
Overdue. It's quite hard to make out.
