Brosnan back Elba

I haven't seen Elba enough in any movies so I can't judge him personally, but from what I've heard since the rumors started, everyone says they think he'd do a great job. I don't mind the idea of a black Bond; if it's a capable actor who can play the part well I think they're a good choice. With Craig's rebooted series and the lack of sensical continuity in the original franchise, anything can go with this series.

Some say that a black character will be straying too far from Fleming's original creation, but if the characterization in terms of personality stay true to the character, then looks won't matter as much. Look at Craig's Bond: everyone said a blonde man couldn't be James Bond (which is ridiculous and unfair for Craig), but everyone praises how close to the Fleming Bond Craig has been. The same can go for Idris Elba or any black man taking up the role.

BTW, Brosnan has mentioned Colin Salmon over the years, and I have to say, Colin would be my first choice to play Bond if I could choose (given his age now, he would work perfectly in a more story driven film in the vein of OHMSS or FRWL).

    There is already a long thread debating the merits of a black Bond and Idris in particular - I'll close this one, thanks -{
