Bond in the U.S.

Given the history of EON's Bond shenanigans in the United States (outside of GF -which only showed him in a hotel and MR - which only shows him at Drax's estate), does anyone believe they will have him there in a future mission in which he won't be involved in the same type of screen buffoonery? It would be nice to have at least one film in the USA where he's in real danger as oppose to a series of misguided slapstick stunts.
Blofeld in drag - still a major cringe factor...
A pink tie ..really?
Why didn't Fleming have these characters in the novel?
Moore enjoying himself.
Moore not enjoying himself in San Fransisco.

Fantastic locations and such a varied one. Las Vegas has changed so much
Since DAF, it would be fantastic to see Bond back there.
Perhaps have " Spectreville" in the desert, as one of the parts from the
Novels they haven't yet filmed ?
Takes a lot of punishment. I think that would work well. -{
....no
Every film that comes out of Hollywood is set in america. With the bonds we go see the rest of the world. We are actually visiting Rome, Austria and mexico city. What other film series does that?
You want to see las vegas? Put on a TV movie?
But as exotic...
1. Thunderball 2. FRWL 3. Casino Royale 4. TLD 5. OHMSS 6. SkyFall 7. GF 8. TSWLM 9. GE 10. FYEO
Yep! And I'm even closer! )
Miami/Key West is nice, but thats all we saw for the States in LTK.
I agree that Casino Royale was played straight. If and where he might be shown in the U.S. is probably dependent on who is willing to pony up the money to get the production there. I'm not sure what product or location would appeal to the Bond audience that is U.S. focused.
If you can find it, check out the finale to this movie...........It really shows the power of the falls

I liked some aspects of AVTAK, but there were too many faults for me personally to enjoy it as much as I wanted to. The whole fire engine chase scene with Moore dangling on the ladder just screamed Keystone Cops and Harold Loyd to me.
I think there are many U.S. locations that would appeal to a modern audience (D.C., and even New York - even though Moore was there in LALD, that was over 40 years ago and the city has changed a lot since then). Your right though in saying "U.S. focused". I wasn't suggesting the large part of a new Bond being set in the U.S. - only say a quarter of it. They got away with the whole third act of the film in GF being in the U.S. because it had to do with Ft. Knox. I don't think they could repeat an event like that again in the modern series.
I prefer Bond in more exotic locations, or off the beaten track.
I've travelled in the States, ant there are some stunning locations, but the U.S. is so 'available' as a destination, I'd much rather see Bond going somewhere I know little about.

Drug smuggling, illegal immigration problems, high-tech industry boom, oil, fracking. . .nope, nothing to interest a filmmaker. . .
See Bond out in the farming belt. Those huge crop fields stretching off
To the horizon.
" In the heat of the night". But gun carrying red neck cowboy
TypesI think would play well against a suave 007.
Bumkins in the middle of nowhere. It's still a very exciting place ! )
