Goldfinger. As much as I hold it in very high Regard, it is overrated.
Exactly. Goldfinger isn't overrated because there's anything wrong with it. It's overrated because it's practically an expectation that it has to be in your top 3.
Peter Hunt used the wipes as part of his measures to cut down the screen time and speed the film up. An exhausted Terence Young left that in his hands, taking less to do with the editing process than he usually would.

6) Villain - Blofeld, apart from Telly I wish they kept him unshown / mysterious
7) One-Liner - Gotta be a Moore one but so many cheesy naff ones to find the worst!!
8) Theme Song - Die Another Day

Goldfinger is an easy target for being called "overrated" because it's so highly praised whereas many other good Bond films tend to be ignored.
However, Goldfinger definitely deserves all the acclaim it gets IMO. Brilliant film & novel. -{
