What Elements from Nolan's Batman Films will be in Spectre? (Spoilers)
Gassy Man
USAPosts: 2,972MI6 Agent
Craig's Bond films owe a lot to others -- the Bourne series, for instance -- but they often seem to lift whole concepts from Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. We essentially got Bond Begins with Casino Royale, by way of Fleming's excellent novel, and Skyfall was in many ways The Dark Knight meets Straw Dogs.
So, what might we predict for Spectre?
Will Monica Bellucci's character essentially be Selina Kyle?
Will one of the baddies essentially be Bane?
Will we see an army of terrorists assembled for revenge/a perverted sense of justice?
Thoughts? I'm not necessarily asking for spoilers from the scripts that are online, though I've noted that there might be spoilers in this thread in the title.

Monica B. will not be a vigilante if thats what you are getting at. From the only stuff we've seen of her, she is playing some sort of grieving widow of a dead Spectre agent, kind of like the beginning of Thunderball. i don't think she will be action-oriented.
Mr. Hinx - The henchman played by Bautista, is going to be physically and mentally intimidating like Bane was. but he is completely different, and mostly an homage to old henchmen like Oddjob.
Will we see an army of terrorists assembled for revenge/a perverted sense of justice? - In comparison of the League of Assassins, SPECTRE doesn't give a damn about justice. They are a rogue nation (a lot like the new Mission impossible trailer), they are a syndicate that belongs to no country. Their mission has always been to rule the world, so they would be money oriented.
Anyway, Lucius Fox is just a copy of Q, and Chris Nolan has stated those films were heavily influenced by Bond first and foremost
Nicely done, and I concur! {[]
For instance, we have the return to the manor house, along with the trusty old guy who is a surrogate parent in both the Batman films and Skyfall, as well as the wily villain whose machinations are many steps ahead of his opponents, the idea that the circumstances are deeply personal and not just professional for the heroes, the loss of a female close to the hero, the trips to Hong Kong, lengthy motorcycle chases, etc.
It's not so much a question of similarity between the two franchises as the Bond films trailing the Batman ones and seeming to incorporate the elements that worked in them as a result.
The similarities don't have to be literal -- they're not making an exact copy. But Craig's Bond films seem to lift generously ideas from Nolan's films, adjusting them for the Bond universe, but essentially taking the position that if they worked in one, they'll work in the other.

Here are what I will give to the DK tributes in Skyfall
1. The villain - Silva is heavily inspired by Heath Ledger's Joker.
2. His plan to get captured and then to escape from a glass cell is borrowed from DK.
3. I guess you could argue there are a lot more scenes at night now, as opposed to CR & QoS which were largely day time
4. Tomm Newman's Score gets kind of Dark Knightey at times, particularly the 'Jellyfish" track when he jumps on the elevator.
but bottom line these 2 franchises have borrowed plenty from each other. they have plenty of unique qualities too
I learned this from reading one of the leaked scripts.
The Bond Signal will project a heineken bottle (also Bruce Waynes favourite tipple)
What about Robin, the little orphan boy whom Bond adopts. Is he still in there?
I remember Superman resurrecting himself in Superman II. Think its been done to death over the years in various forms.
HAHA!...I love that, nice one! -{
On the original topic, I hope not many, I am b*oody sick of Nolan and his endless over-intellectualising of what are essentially pretty simple themes.
Going underground can represent death (like a grave). Re-emerging alive can represent resurrection. This is symbolism going back thousands of years. It didn't start with Christopher Nolan.
And I'm relatively certain that resurrection is a pretty big theme in "Skyfall."
And BTW all art informs all other art.
How dare you? everything started and everything will end with Christopher Nolan!
At least that's what his Nolanites think.
Oh and also...
SPECTRE appears to be taking place shortly after Skyfall and there's been rumours than Bond 25 is the second part in the story of SPECTRE. Surely, if that's the case, Mendes won't bow out before B25?
It also allows Craig to have his last film with Mendes and then when they both leave, the new Bond gets to start afresh and probably move away from the personal life/back story angle which Mendes seems to be bringing.
Man I hope so. I think Mendes and Craig have a great creative partnership that is clearly working wonders for the series. Mendes has thus far shown a keen understanding of Fleming as well as the film series as a whole, and strikes a near perfect balance between the two in his execution. It'd be great to see what another director could do with the Craig era (especially Christopher Nolan himself), but Mendes closing it out would be solid.
...plus, I'm already salivating over the prospect of a Mendes Bond Trilogy blu ray package

I like what Mendes did with Skyfall, but I agree that Casino Royale is by far the best of the Craig films to date.
Also agree, Casino is the best.
I also love Goldeneye so would love for Martin Campbell to come back and do one more, possibly Bond 26 to introduce a new Bond again. Given how old he'll be then though, not sure that would happen. Anyway, that's a topic for a different thread at a different time.
getting the accent right.
The only spectaculars are the Bonds with possibly the Star Wars films and LOTR films behind them. Who is this Chris Nolan person?
