    Cheers {[]

    I still need to get the last four Benson Novels. It's a Shame that they have not been re-issued like the Fleming and Gardner Books.

    Die Another Day is my least favorite Bond movie and it has been from the first time I saw it. However, it is still a Bond movie so I don't hate it. It is just my least favorite film in my favorite movie franchise. But to each his own.

    That's the same way I feel about A View To A Kill. It's my least favorite, but I still get enjoyment from watching it because it's a Bond movie. {[]

    This being a DAD thread, more NSNA discussion should be at a dedicated NSNA thread such as http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/41872/never-say-never-again-your-detailed-review/

    Back on-topic!

    One of the pluses for DAD is, The brilliant Titles by Daniel Kleinman.
    I'm a big fan of his work, I think he's very talented and inventive with
    His visuals.
    Having the silhouetted girls partially appearing in the flames etc looked
    Fantastic. -{

    I think Eon were attempting to tell this film in an unusual way, but lost faith about halfway through and reverted to formula.

    Agreed. The female figures of fire, ice and lightning, the scorpions, Bond being tortured. It is all beautifully put together and very impressive visually. And I will say this also......I quite like Madonna's title song.

    I like many elements about DAD. Pierce is very relaxed in the role and seems to enjoy every scene. Much of the dialogue is terrific and thee are some great ideas, such as the disused tube station, the sleeper agent in Havana, the hotel in HK, among others... These always seemed Flemingesque to me. And it has Rosamund Pike too. ;%

    If you take out some of the more outlandish elements, you've got yourself a pretty good Bond film, right there. :D

    He seems to be enjoying himself a little too much, though I think Daniel Craig could benefit from a little enjoyment.

    My biggest problems with DAD are the forced one-liners, especially as delivered by Halle Berry, and the much maligned (and deservedly so) CGI elements. I think Pierce's perfomance is very good, for the most part, the PTS is nicely done, and the element of Bond being held and tortured for 18 months lends a welcome dash of seriousness to this entry. I even like the theme song!

    Pierce always gives a good performance, he just rarely had decent lines to deliver.

    Nope, the final say was by director Lee Tamahori - who thought he was making a 'Carry on' film

    Tamahori was probably DAD's biggest problem. Of all of Brosnan's films I think Michael Apted did the best job at directing TWINE, and Brosnan gave a fantastic performance in that film. It just had a bad story. GoldenEye is really Brosnan's only Bond film with a good story, I just don't like the way it was directed.
