I know some people here love Sanchez, but to me he just strikes me as a stereotypical gangster type, which is why I'm not a fan of him. Nothing wrong with having a gangster type BV, but I would've liked Sanchez to be developed in a more original manner. He just reminds me too much of the Godfather trilogy.

I do love Dario though, he might be my fave Bond Henchman.

Then again, Xenia exists, but I could put them in separate categories.

It's not so much the character as written as Davi the actor- he was amazing.

I will admit that Davi did do a good job of looking tough, plus that scene when he kills Krest is brutal stuff.

Also when has his men cut out the heart of Lupe's lover is brutal as well.

I like that Dalton's movies have no nuts attempting to take over the world in them... makes them seem more Fleming.

Yeah they're grounded in more standard plots, but that was the general theme from FYEO on...

I love his workman-like just-tell-the-story style. With lesser actors this would be a problem from a performance POV, but he worked with the best (Moore, Dalton, Davi), so the only casualties were with characters like Stacy (allowed to be too much herself) & Koskov (allowed to ham it up a bit too much).
He was certainly no Young or Campbell, but I totally enjoyed all he brought to the party (even the animal scares)!

While, as a movie, I prefer TLD to LtK, I prefer LtK's gunbarrel. The opening music does a great job of letting the viewer know that the film will be dark.

I can't get enough of that scene when Bond kills Killifer. Dalton was just excellent in that scene:

"There's $2 million in that suitcase. I'll split it with ya!"

"You want it, you keep it, old buddy!"

Dalton just sounds so sinister in that scene, so full of anger and vehemence. He just does so much with that one line.

Man, Dalton was such a great Bond.

Very weak film, awful score and totally does not feel like a Bond film. Dalton was NASTY in this film in a Yorkshire accent.

I disagree but it's your opinion.

LtK didn't impress me much when I first watched it, but I liked it more the 2nd time around. I think it might grow more on me over time.

He was born in Wales, raised in Derbyshire- can't hear Yorkshire in his voice at all. Not being English, I'm not clear on what they consider "North" since they're all "South".

How could I NOT be? After reading the novels & subsequently re-watching the Dalton films (as peeps here suggested I do (endless thanks BTW)), I realized that TLD is the best overall Bond movie & LTK is the best Bond performance. -{ )

I think, purely from a directorial standpoint, that Glen's 3 middle films were his best efforts.

I do prefer LtK to AVTAK, even though I prefer AVTAK's direction. And that's mainly because of the main Bond Girls (I take Pam over Stacey any day), and that overall, I'd say it's a more entertaining watch.

But I feel Glen's directing in LtK is missing something. The film feels a bit to me like a TV movie.

And don't get me started on the directing in FYEO, although it seems I'm in the minority on that one.

Eon found itself financially stretched for Licence to Kill - so it had to go for the American market. It formatted the change from Pinewood to the Estudios Churubusco in Mexico City. Hence the film featuring a very American cast

Not much of the film was at Pineood. I still think as a story it broke new ground

I don't think that's totally Glen's fault as his other films have demonstrated some decent direction. LTK to me does feel like a TV movie because it just feels cheap overall and quite tired - a major change from TLD. The budget is $8m less than TLD too.
