In David's vlog, it looks more grey than tan to me which shocked me considering that he had the correct clothing.

Those filters used for filming really made a huge difference. Does the costume designer know this and selects clothing based on this info or is there no knowledge of this beforehand?

There are numerous film tests done during pre-production using costumes, props, etc. so it can be determined what the final look will be once it's been put through the paces of the film/digital pipeline. No stones are left unturned on a seasoned film set. Rarely is it heard "Ohh, I had no idea it was going to look like THAT!" These decisions are made between the director, cinematographer, production designer, costume designer, etc. Ultimately the "look" of the film (color, saturation, etc) comes down to the cinematographer and the colorist. Other opinions are given and considered, but it comes down to these two positions as far as how these ideas are executed.

Back when the Armani CR jacket showed up looking much lighter brown than what we saw in the film, I started calling it the difference between "screen accurate" and "on screen accurate" which is either a pipe dream or an expensive dyeing project. :))

Bond wore black shoes with that jacket. Looked fine on screen. On the street?

So are you going for a simple registry office wedding, or the full church do.......? ;)

The true colours are closer to the country outfit in Goldfinger. The true colours also flatter David better than the richer brown in the film does, since the more muted browns go better with David's cool and light summer complexion.

When I had the Armani jacket I thought it looked bang on the same colour as the film.

Ross has a lighter version non SA one though so there are different colours of this jacket

I've learned to live with the differences of the SA item when compared to the On Screen Accurate look of the item (to steal from HalfMonk HalfHitman). But, I can also understand the desire for the piece to look like the way you remember it. However, I am not ok with not being able to actually get the SA item, i.e., Tom Ford & Matchless jackets from Spectre. This is a trend that worries me, and one I hope does not continue.

    Hi James

Are you referring to the items not being attainable due to high cost? If so fair enough however I think we are rather spoilt nowadays in terms of availibility.

Also I could be wrong but it seems DCs wardrobe is much more vast compared to example Brozzers - although DC does have high end stuff he also incorporates some more attainable items (Smedley / Levis / Topman / Sunspel / JCrew)

The last few films seem more commercialised / marketed also in terms of the clothes and acessories also with the designers promoting their items

Can't speak for James, but I think he was referring to the fact that the TF and Matchless versions available to the public were missing some screen accurate details, like the collar hooks, length of the pocket zips, etc.

I think that is so strange, for both TF and particularly Matchless. Why couldn't they just reproduce the jacket that Craig wore? granted to the untrained eye they did that but we know both the TF Ski jacket and Matchless jacket have differences from the one Craig actually wore.

TF aint too bad but Matchless seem to knock out some iffy designs e.g Force Awakens jackets was a cool missed opportunity unless they are not permitted to get too close to the real designs

As for the Morocco jacket hook - maybe they were too scared to put out for retail a JV rip off in a different colour?

Too bad JV never re-released their jacket in the screen used color (and in their less expensive Star USA line). Would have been more popular than the Matchless.

Yup, that's what I was referring to. Sorry about the confusion. Looking back at it, my comment was rather ambiguous. Some good points though Welshboy78. We are spoiled these days compared to the old Bonds. Everything is marketed so well. There are still the odd pieces that only us hard core know about, but things have changed so much even since Casino Royale where there are literally pieces we still don't know the identity of. I don't know if that will ever happen again. Better cross my fingers on that one.

David, as I mentioned in my email to you I purchased the Orlebar Brown Mortimer. All around excellent polo/sweatshirt. Its comfortable and stylish.

For those looking to pull the trigger on OB gear, I input "David Zaritsky" in the referred me section and the site provided a discount code. Nice way to show a little support for the great recommendations from the bond experience.

Alternatively, if you are so inclined you can use this link which is a referral from me to obtain a 15% coupon code on OB purchases. https://orlebarbrown.mention-me.com/m/ol/db6qm-2cc4a0af6e.

Ahh damn, i've been looking for an OB discount code for ages for use on the US site, but unfortunately your referral code only works on the UK site and I can't figure out how to work/where to find the "input David Zaritsky" referred me section on any of the sites :(
